This paper revisits a recently introduced chemostat model of one-species with a periodic input of a single nutrient which is described by a system of delay differential equations. Previous results provided sufficient conditions ensuring the existence and uniqueness of a periodic solution for arbitrarily small delays. This paper partially extends these results by proving-with the construction of Lyapunov-like functions-that the evoked periodic solution is globally asymptotically stable when considering Monod uptake functions and a particular family of nutrient inputs.

Ethanol, hexane, diethyl ether, and ethyl acetate fractions and the water residue were analyzed and resulted in a total phenolic compound content between 13 and 63 mg of gallic acid equivalents per gram of crude extract. The total antioxidants ranged between 3 and 19 mg of ascorbic acid equivalents per gram of crude extract, and the percentage of antioxidant activity was determined to be between 6 and 25%.

The South American genus Arachis (Fabaceae) comprises 83 species organized in nine taxonomic sections. Among them, section Arachis is characterized by species with a wide genome and karyotype diversity.

While the abiotic factors affecting pathogen prevalence in insect populations are reasonably well documented, much less is known about relevant ecological interactions. We studied the probability of the larvae of three lepidopteran species to die from fungal infection as a function of insect species and food plants in central Argentina.

Regarded for a long time as an obstacle for phylogenetic studies, homoplasy has also been proposed as a source of information about underlying morphogenetic patterning mechanisms. The "local-activation and long-range inhibition principle" (LALIP), underlying the famous reaction-diffusion model proposed by Alan Turing in 1952, appears to be one of the universal phenomena that can explain the ontogenetic origin of seriate patterns in living organisms.

Because its aetiology is unknown, the identification of genes/factors involved in disease severity, differential clinical forms, and associated complications is critical for understanding its pathogenesis and designing novel treatments. Neuroendocrine mediators in the skin emerge as potential candidates.

Qualitative identification of secondary metabolites as well as a quantification of phenolic compounds content and antioxidant potential of ethanolic extracts was carried out of four wild species: Cristataspora flavipora, two specimens of different phylogenetic clades of Ganoderma australe (clade 1 and clade 2), G. martinicense, G.

There is an urgent need to identify factors causing susceptibility and for the design of new therapeutic agents. Here, we evaluate the effectiveness of the immunomodulatory neuropeptide cortistatin to regulate pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis in vivo.

Case Presentation: We present three patients with CPFE, who underwent right cardiac catheterization for pulmonary hemodynamic assessment, finding mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) between 37-52 mm Hg (mean 45 mm Hg), who received treatment with specific vasodilators for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
Discussion And Conclusions: The three patients had higher mPAP than expected for Group III (Pulmonary hypertension due to lung disease and/or hypoxia) of the classification of pulmonary hypertension (PH) by the World Health Organization (WHO), in whom the use of Sildenafil was justified by the presence of progressive dyspnea, and no symptoms suggestive of infectious exacerbation associated with right ventricular failure.
The species of the genus Arachis (Leguminosae) are ordered into nine sections. The assignment of genome types in this genus has been based on cross-compatibility analysis and molecular cytogenetic studies. The latter has also allowed karyotypically establishing well-defined genomes and reassigning the genome of several species.

Methodology: This cross-sectional study was performed in San Cecilio Hospital, Granada (Spain) from November 2017 to May 2019. Sixty-two women with SSc and 62 age and sex matched healthy controls were included in this study.
Objectives: We aimed to compare serum Klotho and fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF-23) levels between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients and healthy controls. Possible association between FGF-23 and soluble Klotho with different characteristic of the disease as well as their potential role as surrogate markers of cardiovascular disease (CVD) were studied.
Methods: Sixty-three patients with RA recruited at Vega-Baja Hospital, Orihuela (Spain) from November 2016 to May 2018 and sixty-five age- and sex-matched healthy controls were included in this study.
The most conspicuous difference among chromosomes and genomes in Arachis species, the patterns of heterochromatin, was mainly modeled by differential amplification of different members of one superfamily of satellite DNAs. Divergence in repetitive DNA is a primary driving force for genome and chromosome evolution. Section Arachis is karyotypically diverse and has six different genomes.

Thus, neotropical specimens previously identified as P. dictyopus from Amazonia, Cerrado and Atlantic Forest biomes were studied based on detailed macro- and micromorphological examination and phylogenetic analyses, using distinct ribosomal and protein-coding genomic regions: the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (nrITS), nuclear ribosomal large subunit (nrLSU), and RNA polymerase II second subunit (RPB2).
