Objective: To compare concussions that had an SRT of 15 to 28 days with concussions that had an SRT of greater than 28 days among US high school athletes.
Design: Descriptive epidemiology study.
Objective: To document the performance of first-year pharmacy students on a revised objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) based on national entrustable professional activities, identify risk factors for poor performance, and assess its validity and reliability.
Methods: A working group developed the OSCE to verify students' progress toward readiness for advanced pharmacy practice experiences at the L1 level of entrustment (ready for thoughtful observation) on the national entrustable professional activities, with stations cross-mapped to the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education educational outcomes. Baseline characteristics and academic performance were used to investigate risk factors for poor performance and validity, respectively, by comparing students who were successful on the first attempt with those who were not.
Objectives: This study examined the effects of a combination corticosteroid plus long-acting beta -adrenergic agonist inhaler (IC) on rabbit phonation.
Methods: White New Zealand male rabbits were assigned randomly to experimental and control groups (n = 11 per group). The experimental group received twice-daily doses of Advair HFA™ (fluticasone propionate 45 mcg and salmeterol 21 mcg) via a veterinary facemask with 1-way valve and spacer; the control group received aerosolized saline.

Methods: Sublingual dexmedetomidine data for this post hoc analysis were obtained from two similarly designed, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled studies of adults with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. Response to treatment was defined as a ≥ 40% reduction from baseline in the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale-Excited Component (PEC).
Sport-related concussion (SRC) is a complex injury, and SRCs are notably prevalent among National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) athletes. We analysed SRCs and associated exposure data collected within the NCAA Injury Surveillance Program during 2014-2019. The most recent studies examining overuse injury rates in high school sports were based on data from 2012 to 2013 and, therefore, may not reflect current overuse injury rates in high school sports.
Objective: To (1) determine overuse time-loss (TL) and non-time-loss (NTL) injury rates among high school student-athletes using National Athletic Treatment, Injury and Outcomes Network Surveillance Program (NATION-SP) data collected from 2014-2015 to 2018-2019 and (2) compare overuse injury rates based on student-athlete sex defined by whether it was a boys' sport or a girls' sport, the sport itself, and the injury location.
Context: Volleyball is a popular sport with a risk of injury to the entire body. Insight into non-time-loss (NTL) and time-loss (TL) injuries is needed to inform seasonal injury trends that may lead to appropriate prevention and management strategies. Accurate detection and risk stratification of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) remains a major clinical and public health problem. We hypothesize that multiparameter strategies that probe immune responses to Mycobacterium tuberculosis can provide new diagnostic insights into not only the status of LTBI infection, but also the risk of reactivation. After the initial proof-of-concept study, we developed a 13-plex immunoassay panel to profile cytokine release from peripheral blood mononuclear cells stimulated separately with Mtb-relevant and non-specific antigens to identify putative biomarker signatures.
