Is oral dydrogesterone equivalent to vaginal micronized progesterone for luteal phase support in women receiving oocyte donation?

Research Question: To determine whether the use of oral dydrogesterone (DYD) in luteal phase support (LPS) during an artificial cycle provides equivalent clinical and ongoing pregnancy, delivery and miscarriage rates as micronized vaginal progesterone (MVP) in oocyte donation recipients.

Design: This was a retrospective observational study of prospectively collected data from the assisted reproductive technology (ART) Department of Lille University Hospital from July 2018 to July 2022. All recipients underwent endometrial preparation by an artificial cycle.

Outcomes of First Subsequent Taxane Therapy in Patients with Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer Who Previously Received Docetaxel Intensification for Metastatic Castration-Sensitive Prostate Cancer.

Background: The management of advanced prostate cancer continues to evolve rapidly, particularly with the earlier use of survival-prolonging therapies in metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer (mCSPC). Though approved prior to the use of intensification therapy in mCSPC, taxane-based chemotherapies remain a relevant option for patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). However, there is little evidence determining the outcomes of taxane chemotherapies as the first subsequent taxane (FST) in mCRPC pts who received docetaxel intensification (DI) in mCSPC.

Pulsatile gonadotropin-releasing hormone therapy: comparison of efficacy between functional hypothalamic amenorrhea and congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.

In recent years, the prevalence of infertility has increased, and appears to affect approximately one in six couples. Some of them must perform assisted reproductive techniques (ART) in order to achieve pregnancy. As a result, growing interest has arisen about predictive factors of pregnancy and live birth with and without ART.

Trpv6 channel targeting using monoclonal antibody induces prostate cancer cell apoptosis and tumor regression.

TRPV6 calcium channel is a prospective target in prostate cancer (PCa) since it is not expressed in healthy prostate while its expression increases during cancer progression. Despite the role of TRPV6 in PCa cell survival and apoptotic resistance has been already established, no reliable tool to target TRPV6 channel in vivo and thus to reduce tumor burden is known to date. Here we report the generation of mouse monoclonal antibody mAb82 raised against extracellular epitope of the pore region of the channel.

Risk factors for poor oocyte yield and oocyte immaturity after GnRH agonist triggering.

Study Question: What are the potential risk factors for poor oocyte recuperation rate (ORR) and oocyte immaturity after GnRH agonist (GnRHa) ovulation triggering?

Summary Answer: Lower ovarian reserve and LH levels after GnRHa triggering are risk factors of poor ORR. Higher BMI and anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels are risk factors of poor oocyte maturation rate (OMR).

Does surgery for colorectal endometriosis prior to IVF±ICSI have an impact on cumulative live birth rates?

Research Question: Does colorectal endometriosis surgery prior to IVF ± intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) impact cumulative live birth rates?

Design: This retrospective, monocentric study (Lille University Hospital) was conducted between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2018. Two groups of patients from the JFIV database were included: a group undergoing IVF±ICSI alone (120 patients, 215 oocyte retrievals), and a group undergoing surgery and then IVF±ICSI (69 patients, 109 oocyte retrievals). The mode of management was decided after a multidisciplinary team meeting.

Protective resources against stress among student nurses: Influences of self-efficacy, emotional intelligence and conflict management styles.

Aims: This study aimed to investigate the levels of stress among French student nurses and the influence of different personal resources on their well-being and stress levels.

Background: Student nurses have to cope with strong emotional demands, leading them to experience academic stress. Recent studies have highlighted the influence of personal resources such as self-efficacy, conflict management styles and emotional intelligence on the ability to cope with stressful situations.

[Impact of donor parity on oocyte donation outcomes].

Objectives: Since 2015, in France, men and women who have never procreated are allowed to donate their gametes. This has led to an increase in the number of female oocyte donors, whereas there are many couples waiting for gametes that have a long waiting time. The aim of this study is to compare the results of donation with oocytes from nulliparous and non-nulliparous donors.

Pain assessment in women with or without endometriosis during the IVF process: a prospective study.

Research Question: How does the typology and effect of pain vary between infertile patients with or without endometriosis during the different stages of the IVF process?

Design: A prospective, monocentric, observational cohort study was conducted at Lille University Hospital between November 2019 and June 2021. The study was proposed to all patients starting an IVF cycle. Pain assessment questionnaires using validated scales (about type of pain, without specific location), were completed by patients at key points during IVF: before starting treatment, at the end of stimulation and on the day of oocyte retrieval.

How to Choose the Optimal Starting Dose of Clomiphene Citrate (50 or 100 mg per Day) for a First Cycle of Ovulation Induction in Anovulatory PCOS Women?

Research Question: Clomiphene citrate (CC) is one of the first-line treatments for ovulation induction in women with anovulatory polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). However, nearly 1 out of 2 women is resistant to 50 mg/day of CC. The objective of this study is to investigate the clinical, biological, and/or ultrasound factors that may predict the resistance to 50 mg/day of CC in the first cycle of treatment in women with anovulatory PCOS.

Association between endometriosis, infertility and autoimmune antiplatelet glycoprotein VI antibodies in two patients.

The association between endometriosis and autoimmune diseases is well known, however no acquired platelet function defect has been described so far. We describe the case of two patients with endometriosis associated with an antiplatelet glycoprotein VI (anti-GPVI) antibody. The two women with deep pelvic endometriosis associated with secondary infertility presented a mild bleeding tendency, a deficient platelet aggregation response to collagen, convulxin or CRP and a severe GPVI deficiency.

Background: In France, women seeking abortion must do so before the maximum legal limit of 12 weeks of pregnancy (14 Gestational Weeks). Women seeking abortion after the 12-week limit tend to travel to the Netherlands, where the maximum legal limit is 22 weeks of pregnancy. The purpose of this study was to identify the profile and circumstances of women who travel from France to the Netherlands for a late abortion.

Challenges in Diagnosis and Treatment of Pancreatic Exocrine Insufficiency among Patients with Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is the most common malignancy of the pancreas and is associated with an extremely poor prognosis. Many PDAC patients suffer from profound nutritional complications such as nutrient deficiencies, weight loss, malnutrition, and cancer cachexia. These complications cause barriers to effective anticancer treatments, gravely influence their quality of life, and decrease their overall survival.
