The treatment of male severe stress incontinence (MUI) after surgery is the implantation of an artificial urinary sphincter (AUS). Traditionally you need two incisions: perineal and inguinal. Our objetive is present a series of patients treated with the Zephyr 375 EUA implant through a single perineal incision.

A new Cu(II) paddle-wheel-like complex with 4-vinylbenzoate was synthesized using acetonitrile as the solvent. The complex was characterized by X-ray crystal diffraction, FT-IR, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, thermogravimetric, differential scanning calorimetric, magnetic susceptibility, and electronic paramagnetic resonance analyses. The X-ray crystal diffraction analysis indicated that each copper ion was bound at an equatorial position to four oxygen atoms from the carboxylate groups of the 4-vinylbenzoate ligand in a square-based pyramidal geometry.

A natural single crystal of the ferrimagnetic oxide FeCrO3, which was found in an opencast mine situated in the San Luis Potosí State in Mexico, has been characterized in order to elucidate some outstanding issues about the actual structure of this material. The single-crystal X-ray analysis unambiguously shows that transition metal cations are segregated in alternating layers normal to the threefold crystallographic axis, affording a structure isomorphous to that of ilmenite (FeTiO3), in the space group R3̅. The possible occurrence of cation antisite and vacancy defects is below the limit of detection available from X-ray data.

The title complex, catena-poly[di-μ3-acetato-κ(6)O:O:O'-tetra-μ2-acetato-κ(4)O:O;κ(4)O:O'-diaquabis(pyridine-κN)trimanganese(II)], [Mn3(CH3COO)6(C6H5N)2(H2O)2]n, is a true one-dimensional coordination polymer, in which the Mn(II) centres form a zigzag chain along [010]. The asymmetric unit contains two metal centres, one of which (Mn1) lies on an inversion centre, while the other (Mn2) is placed close to an inversion centre on a general position. Since all the acetates behave as bridging ligands, although with different μ2- and μ3-coordination modes, a one-dimensional polymeric structure is formed, based on trinuclear repeat units (Mn1.

Objective: Veralipride is a nonhormonal option for the treatment of vasomotor symptoms of menopause. Incidence of adverse events in a Mexican population and drug compliance according to correct use were evaluated.

Methods: We carried out a longitudinal, prospective, and analytical study in Mexican women who received veralipride to treat symptoms of menopause from 2011 to 2012.

Radical Radiotherapy constitutes a useful therapeutic option for localized prostate cancer. Almost one third of prostate cancer patients choose this alternative to treat the disease. Despite modifications in the technique as intensity modulation, 3D conformational radiotherapy or computer-assisted brachytherapy, a significant percentage of these patients will show an increase in PSA values after radiation.

Objective: To report two new cases of Ewing's sarcoma/primitive neuroectodermal tumor of the kidney, one of them with tumor thrombus in cava.

Method: Characterization of two new cases and literature review by PubMed search.

Results: We report the cases of two men diagnosed with primary renal Ewing's sarcoma, who have been treated with nephrectomy and adjuvant chemotherapy, being in complete remission to date.

We present an analysis of the combustion synthesis mechanisms for the preparation of hexaboride materials using three compounds as model systems: EuB(6), YbB(6), and YB(6). These three hexaborides were chosen because of the differences in ionic radii between Eu(3+), Yb(3+), and Y(3+), which is a factor in their stability. The powders were prepared using metal nitrates, carbohydrazide, and two different boron precursor powders.

Objective: To review the unusual localizations of metastasic prostate cancer with the contribution of a clinical case of prostatic adenocarcinoma metastasis in the thyroid cartilage.

Methods: 49-year-old-male admitted with history of 48 hour hematuria associated with lumbar pain radiating to the lower extremities and cervical tumour for 3 months.

Results: CT scan of the thorax, abdomen and pelvis was performed showing an insufflating lesion on the left thyroid cartilage lamina suggesting chondrosarcoma, a 4 cm tumour on the posterior side of the bladder, and metastases on L4-S1 vertebral bodies and left iliac bone.

A new crystalline polymorphic phase of tetrakis(mu2-benzoato-O,O')-bis(dimethyl sulfoxide)dicopper(II) was obtained by direct synthesis, in space group P2(1)/n. The copper coordination is in a slightly distorted square pyramidal geometry with an intramolecular Cu..

Background: At the present time, there is no accepted treatment for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH); nevertheles, there are some reports of non-controlled studies with apparently good answer with ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) as much with alpha-tocopherol (aTP).

Objective: To value the clinical, biochemical and hepatic ultrasound (US) response in patients with NASH in treatment for 1 year with UDCA or aTP, as well as to establish tolerance, undesirable effects and fulfillment.

Method: Three patients received UDCA (250 mg TID) and six aTP (100 mg TID).

The synthesis in aqueous solution and pH = 1.0 of several novel Cu(II) compounds with allopurinol and hypoxanthine as heterocyclic ligands and X = Cl(-), Br(-), NO(3)(-), SO(4)(2-), and ClO(4)(-) as anions, together with their spectral and magnetic characterization, is reported. The studies of the Cu(II) systems with these heterocycles and Cl(-) or Br(-) support their Cu(II)(L)(2)(X)(2) character and their interactions through halogen atoms as bridging ligands, leading to a very weak antiferromagnetic coupling.
