Aim: To evaluate the effects of systematic rehabilitation on both the neuropsychomotor development, and on the peripheral response from immunological and neuroplastic mediators in children with cerebral palsy.

Methods: This is a prospective cohort study with 90 children with cerebral palsy at 18 months of age. Sixty children received rehabilitation for 6 months, and they were compared to 30 children that were placed in the waiting list.

Idiopathic Nephrotic Syndrome (INS) is the most frequent etiology of glomerulopathy in pediatric patients and one of the most common causes of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) in this population. In this review, we aimed to summarize evidence on the pathophysiological role and therapeutic potential of the Renin-Angiotensin System (RAS) molecules for the control of proteinuria and for delaying the onset of CKD in patients with INS. This is a narrative review in which the databases PubMed, Web of Science, and Sci- ELO were searched for articles about INS and RAS.

Background: to evaluate the effects of one week of supplementation with curcumin combined with piperine on physical performance, immune system cell counts, muscle damage, and plasma levels of inflammatory markers after a treadmill running training session.

Methods: This study is a double-blind, crossover-balanced clinical trial with a three-week intervention. Sixteen male runners with a mean age of 36 ± 9 years and VO2 max of 60.

Introduction: Posterior urethral valve (PUV) is a congenital malformation characterized by a membranous structure located in the prostatic portion of the male posterior urethra that obstructs the urinary flow. Efforts have been made to determine the degree of impairment of fetal kidney function in this condition.

Objective: This study aimed to measure the levels of urinary biomarkers of glomerular and tubular functions in fetuses with PUV and to compare with the levels of the same molecules in healthy male premature newborns.

Background: Idiopathic or Primary Nephrotic Syndrome (INS) is a common glomerular disease in pediatric population, characterized by proteinuria, edema and hypoalbuminemia with variable findings in renal histopathology.

Objective: This review aims to summarize current data on the etiopathogenesis diagnosis, protocols of treatment and potential therapeutic advances in INS.

Methods: This narrative review searched for articles on histopathology, physiopathology, genetic causes, diagnosis and treatment of INS in pediatric patients.

Introduction: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the leading cause of dementia worldwide. Despite the extensive research, its pathophysiology remains largely unelucidated. Currently, more attention is being given to the disease's vascular and inflammatory aspects.

Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) comprises a rapidly developed renal failure and is associated with high mortality rates. The Renin-Angiotensin System (RAS) plays a pivotal role in AKI, as the over-active RAS axis exerts major deleterious effects in disease progression. In this sense, the conversion of Angiotensin II (Ang II) into Angiotensin-(1-7) (Ang-(1-7)) by the Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) is of utmost importance to prevent worse clinical outcomes.

Background: Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) 2 is an important modulator of the Renin Angiotensin System (RAS) and the RAS plays a central role in renovascular hypertension. Very few studies investigated the role of components of the counterregulatory RAS axis (ACE2, Ang-(1-7) and Mas receptor) in renovascular hypertension and the results are controversial.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Diminazene Aceturate (DIZE) administration on renal function and renal inflammation parameters in 2K1C hypertensive rats.

Renin angiotensin system (RAS) plays a role in idiopathic nephrotic syndrome (INS). Most studies investigated only the classical RAS axis. Therefore, the aims of the present study were to evaluate urinary levels of RAS molecules related to classical and to counter-regulatory axes in pediatric patients with INS, to compare the measurements with levels in healthy controls and to search for associations with inflammatory molecules, proteinuria and disease treatment.
