Pulsed current has proven to be a promising alternative to direct current in electrochemical deposition, offering numerous advantages regarding deposit quality and properties. Concerning the electrodeposition of metal alloys, the role of pulsed current techniques may vary depending on the specific metals involved. We studied an innovative tin-ruthenium electroplating bath used as an anti-corrosive layer for decorative applications.

In this work, the influence of different electroplating processes and surface treatments on nickel release was evaluated. The nickel release was tested according to the EN 1811 standard.

Since heavy metals are highly soluble in the aquatic environments and they can be absorbed easily by living organisms, their removal is essential from the environmental point of view. Many studies have been devoted to investigating the environmental behaviour of graphene-based nanomaterials as sorbent agents to remove metals from wastewaters arising by galvanic industries.

The method took advantage of the spontaneous oxidation and color development of levodopa at basic pH here driven by alkaline earth cations and co-solvent in solution. We have shown for the first time the generation and stabilization of the purple melanochrome from levodopa, by using magnesium acetate and dimethyl sulfoxide, which was here exploited for the development of a quantitative colorimetric assay for the active principle ingredient in commercial drugs for the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
