Fertility in the Digital Age: A Survey-Based Evaluation of Fertility App Users' Quality of Life.

This study sought to characterize fertility app use among women seen for infertility care and to investigate the association between fertility app use and quality of life. This survey-based study was conducted at an academic infertility clinic. Surveys were administered to patients who presented for a new infertility visit.

Factors affecting live birth rates in donor oocytes from commercial egg banks vs. program egg donors: an analysis of 40,485 cycles from the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology registry in 2016-2018.

Objective: To examine the differences in live birth rates (LBRs), with single embryo transfer (SET), using oocytes from program generated egg donors vs. commercial egg bank donors and other factors affecting LBRs using donor oocytes.

Wave reflections and global arterial compliance during normal human pregnancy.

Profound changes occur in the maternal circulation during pregnancy. Routine measures of arterial function - central systolic pressure (CSP) and augmentation index (AIx) - decline during normal human pregnancy. The objectives of this study were twofold: (1) explore wave reflection indices besides CSP and AIx that are not routinely reported, if at all, during normal human pregnancy; and (2) compare wave reflection indices and global arterial compliance (gAC) obtained from carotid artery pressure waveforms (CAPW) as a surrogate for aortic pressure waveforms (AOPW) versus AOPW synthesized from radial artery pressure waveforms (RAPW) using a generalized transfer function.

The changing epidemiology of HIV in the criminal justice system.

Although the rate of HIV infection among US prison inmates is considerably higher than that of the general population, little is known about age-related changes in HIV-infected inmates over the last decade. This study of the nation's largest state prison system examined (1) whether the mean age of the HIV-infected inmate increased over the last decade, and (2) whether the prevalence of HIV and associated comorbidities varied according to age. The study population included all 230,103 inmates incarcerated in the Texas prison system for any duration during 2014.

Analysis of failure and clinical outcome after unsuccessful medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction in young patients.

Purpose: Reconstruction of the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) has become a popular procedure for patients with patellofemoral instability. Nevertheless, complication rates of up to 26 % have been reported. This study presents the analysis of failure and clinical outcome of subsequent revision surgery in young patients following unsuccessful medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction.

Hyperkalemia and ventricular tachycardia after outpatient ureteral valve reimplantation: a case report.

Objective: This study aimed to report on a toddler who presented with progressively worsening abdominal pain and obstructive uropathy 1 week after ureteral valve reimplantation. Acute renal failure resulted in critical hyperkalemia.

Methods: Chart review of presentation, physical examination, laboratory tests, and treatment.

A trial of an all-terrain vehicle safety education video in a community-based hunter education program.

Purpose: All-terrain vehicle (ATV) injury is an increasingly serious problem, particularly among rural youth. There have been repeated calls for ATV safety education, but little study regarding optimal methods or content for such education. The purpose of this study was to determine if an ATV safety video was effective in increasing ATV safety knowledge when used in a community-based statewide hunter education program.
