A radioimmunological method for measuring urinary luteinizing hormone (LH) and chorionic gonadotropin (CG) excretion in the family Callitrichidae is described. The method uses a monoclonal antibody that will be available in virtually unlimited quantity. Several polyclonal antisera that have been useful for the detection of callitrichid gonadotropins are near depletion.

Mean concentrations of Bio FSH were elevated on days 0 and 1 (n = 7; P < 0.05; day 0 = preovulatory LH surge).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFollicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is routinely used for the induction of superovulation in women. Homologous gonadotropin preparations that could be used for reproductive studies in macaques would have valuable research applications. Accordingly, we set out to characterize the physical and biological characteristics of urinary FSH (UFSH) in the ovariectomized rhesus monkey.
