Improving screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment for unhealthy alcohol use in diverse, low-resourced primary care clinics.

Background: Implementation of screening brief intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT) and medication-assisted treatment for alcohol use disorder (MAUD) remains low in primary care. ANTECEDENT (Partnerships to Enhance Alcohol Screening, Treatment, and Intervention) was a practice-facilitator led implementation study to increase SBIRT and MAUD use in diverse primary care clinics.

Methods: From November 2019 - April 2023, we conducted a convergent parallel mixed methods evaluation.

Background: Girl child, early, and forced marriage (CEFM) persists in South Asia, with long-term effects on well-being. CARE's Tipping Point Initiative (TPI) sought to address the gender norms and inequalities underlying CEFM by engaging participant groups on programmatic topics and supporting community dialogue to build girls' agency, shift power relations, and change norms. We assessed impacts of the CARE TPI on girls' multifaceted agency and risk of CEFM in Nepal.

Model-based approach for predicting the impact of genetic modifications on product yield in biopharmaceutical manufacturing-Application to influenza vaccine production.

A large group of biopharmaceuticals is produced in cell lines. The yield of such products can be increased by genetic engineering of the corresponding cell lines. The prediction of promising genetic modifications by mathematical modeling is a valuable tool to facilitate experimental screening.

Distributed modeling of human influenza A virus-host cell interactions during vaccine production.

This contribution is concerned with population balance modeling of virus-host cell interactions during vaccine production. Replication of human influenza A virus in cultures of adherent Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells is considered as a model system. The progress of infection can be characterized by the intracellular amount of viral nucleoprotein (NP) which is measured via flow cytometry.
