Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to compare two methods of antivenom administration—standard IV vs. regional administration below a tourniquet—in limiting muscle damage from rattlesnake venom in rabbits.
  • New Zealand white rabbits were divided into four groups, each receiving different treatments involving rattlesnake venom and antivenom, followed by assessments of muscle damage through serum analysis and imaging techniques.
  • Results focused on evaluating muscle necrosis via histological analysis and biochemical markers, with the goal of determining which administration route was more effective in mitigating venom effects.
