Article Synopsis
  • The study compares radio-chronometric ages of four plutonium-certified reference materials with differing chemical forms and isotopic compositions to evaluate current age dating techniques for nuclear materials.
  • Modern analytical methods, including various mass spectrometers, were employed across different laboratories, highlighting variations in age determination precision and the need for standardized isotopic references.
  • Results suggest that while trace level analytical labs may have slightly higher uncertainties compared to bulk sample labs, both can achieve similar model purification ages using established isotope measurement techniques.

Purpose: As dental implants have become routine therapy, clinicians are more frequently being faced with treating peri-implantitis. To date, no single treatment protocol has been shown to be the preferred means to treat peri-implantitis. The aim of this retrospective case series is to present a novel approach utilizing porcine collagen-coated bovine bone (CBB) to treat peri-implantitis.

For more than 20 years, countries and their agencies which monitor radionuclide discharge sites and storage facilities have relied on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Standard Reference Material (SRM) 4355 Peruvian Soil. Its low fallout contamination makes it an ideal soil blank for measurements associated with terrestrial-pathway-to-man studies. Presently, SRM 4355 is out of stock, and a new batch of the Peruvian soil is currently under development as future NIST SRM 4355A.
