Background: Acute pancreatitis (AP), the initially triggered inflammatory process in the pancreas, can be life-threatening. It has been reported that 15-lipoxygenase may promote the removal of damaged intracellular components, maintain intracellular homeostasis, and promote apoptosis by upregulating the activity of caspases. Despite an increased understanding of the lipoxygenase pathway in inflammation and immune diseases, the role of the gene product in modulating the inflammatory changes during AP is not well defined.

Hence, there is an urgent need for the rational design of highly efficient antioxidants to treat AP. Herein, an optimized Cu-based metal-organic framework (MOF) nanozyme with exceptional antioxidant activity is introduced, designed to effectively alleviate AP, by engineering the metal coordination centers in MN2Cl2 (M = Co, Ni, Cu).

Methods: Drug distribution experiment used to demonstrate the preferential tissues enrichment of flavokawain C. Cell proliferation, apoptosis and migration effect of flavokawain C were determined by MTT, colony formation, EdU staining, cell adhesion, transwell, flow cytometry and western blot assay.
Metastasis causes most cancer-related deaths, and the role and mechanism of periostin (POSTN) in the metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain undiscovered. In this study, DEN and HTVi HCC models were performed in hepatic-specific Postn ablation and Postn knock-in mouse to reveal the role of POSTN in HCC metastasis. Furthermore, POSTN was positively correlated with circulating EPCs level and promoted EPC mobilization and tumour infiltration.

Liensinine, a small molecule derived from plants, has been proven to have significant tumor suppressor activity in other cancers. However, there are no reports on whether liensinine can inhibit the proliferation or metastasis of ICC.

The purpose of this study was to explore the connection between the diffuse reduction of spleen density on computed tomography (DROSD) and the postoperative prognosis of patients with PDAC.
Patients And Methods: A total of 160 patients with PDAC who underwent radical surgery in the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University were enrolled.
Background: The tumour microenvironment and cirrhotic liver are excellent sources of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), which participate in carcinogenesis. Thus, it is important to clarify the crosstalk between CAFs and HCC cells and the related mechanism in regulating carcinogenesis.
Methods: Human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues and matched adjacent normal tissues were obtained from HCC patients.

Podocyte damage and loss together have an important role in the pathogenesis and progression of glomerulonephritis. Glomerulonephritis patients and healthy controls were enrolled in this study. Biochemical, clinical and experimental procedures included measurement of total urinary protein, renal biopsy and gene expression analysis of the receptor activator of NF-kappaB (RANK).
