Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a malignant disease originating from the nasopharyngeal epithelial cells. The molecular mechanism of cancer occurrence is a change in the oncogene and tumor suppressor genes. One of the tumor suppressor genes that mutate in cancer cells is the mutant p53 gene.
