Background: In general, the risks associated with transcatheter atrial septal defect (ASD) device closure are reported to be relatively low, but the evidence stems from trials involving adults and older children. Current guidelines do not recommend ASD device closure in children with defect sizes >20 mm due to limited data available in this group of patients. This retrospective study sought to determine the clinical and procedural characteristics of successful transcatheter ASD device closure in small children with large defects and assess the complication rates and reasons for unsuccessful device closure.

Copper surfaces and graphene-embedded, N-coordinated single metal atom (MNC) catalysts exhibit distinctive reactivity, attracting attention as efficient electrocatalysts for CO2RR. In this work, atomic cobalt (Co) incorporation into the PdGe intermetallic lattice facilitates generation of a thin layer of CoO over Co-substituted PdGe, with Co in the CoO surface layer functioning as single metal sites. Hence the catalyst has been titled Co-CoO-PdGe. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and X-ray absorption spectroscopy confirm the existence of CoO, with some of the Co bonded to Ge by substitution of Pd sites in the PdGe lattice.

In the present study, the newly sequenced mitogenomes of three Noctuoid and one Hyblaeoid (Insecta: Lepidoptera) species were annotated based on next-generation sequence data. The complete mitogenome lengths of Oraesia emarginata, Actinotia polyodon, Odontodes seranensis, and Hyblaea puera were 16,668 bp, 15,347 bp, 15,419 bp, and 15,350 bp, respectively. These mitogenomes were found to encode 37 typical mitochondrial genes (13 protein-coding, 22 transfer RNA, 2 ribosomal RNA) and a control region, similar to most Lepidoptera species.
