To understand the differences in degradation processes depending on the chemical properties of polymers, it is necessary to both quantify the microbiome composition and evaluate the process of microbial turnover (i.e., community assembly processes) in a variety of polymer materials.

However, due to differences with common heating principles, and misunderstanding of the correct way to handle them, the effectiveness of microwaves has been underestimated, and development of technologies using microwaves often stops due to this.

Catalysts derived from 3 can efficiently catalyze Markovnikov-type additions of E-H bonds (P(O)-H, S-H and spC-H) to alkynes via a unique catalytic cycle.

The photoinduced structural changes of three polyphenylene-based stilbene dendrimers, G1, G2, and G3, has been studied. They all exhibit fluorescence emission with considerably higher quantum efficiency and longer fluorescence lifetimes compared with the parent stilbene. These dendrimers undergo mutual cis --> trans isomerisation on direct irradiation with 310 nm light at room temperature.

Uniform PEG oligomers with degrees of polymerization n = 6-40 were separated from commercial PEG samples by preparative super-critical fluid chromatography. MALDI-TOF mass spectra of an equimolar mixture of the uniform PEG oligomers were recorded by adding a mixture of 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid as a matrix reagent and four chlorinated salts, i.

Even the stilbene dendrimer with molecular weight over 6500 underwent trans-cis isomerization in the excited singlet state within the lifetime of 10 ns. The photoisomerization of C=C double bond of stilbene dendrimers in the excited state may proceed by a volume-conserving novel mechanism such as hula-twist rather than conventional 180 degrees rotation around the C=C double bond based on fluorescence and isomerization experiments.
