Article Synopsis
  • A case study previously reported a patient suffering from contact urticaria syndrome (CUS) caused by di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DOP) found in PVC grips on cotton gloves.
  • The patient avoided PVC products in his daily life and switched to cotton gloves without PVC, which offered slight relief, but his symptoms recurred when he wore work clothes.
  • Further investigation revealed that his work clothes contained DOP as well, confirmed by a prick test that showed a skin reaction, linking it back to the same allergen causing his condition.
