Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the link between subclinical left ventricular dysfunction and factors such as microvascular complications, uncontrolled blood sugar levels, duration of diabetes, and age among individuals with type 2 diabetes.
  • It analyzed data from 159 asymptomatic patients, revealing that nearly half had poor blood sugar control and reduced heart function, with higher prevalence of kidney, nerve, and eye issues in patients with worse heart function.
  • The findings suggest a connection between heart and microvascular complications, but further research is needed to fully understand these relationships and their significance in clinical practice.
