Objective: to analyze the effectiveness of a support intervention on the burden and stress of family caregivers and on the stroke survivors' independence level, compared to the Control Group.
Method: a quasi-experimental study conducted with 37 participants (Intervention Group, n=20; and Control Group, n=17). The intervention lasted 8 months.
Objectives: To know the needs of family caregivers of Cerebrovascular Accident survivors.
Methods: This is a qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory study. Data were collected from 37 family caregivers of Cerebrovascular Accident survivors from a city in the interior of Bahia, through an interview using a semi-structured form, between September 2017 and March 2018, and submitted to thematic content analysis.
Objective: To report the educational experience with pregnant women considering the recovery of collective memory inherited from the care for the umbilical cord stump provided by grandmothers.
Method: This case study was based on collective memory and resulted from a workshop with 20 pregnant women from a Basic Health Unit in a city in the inland of Bahia.
Results: The study showed that pregnant women's grandmothers are significant in the stump care process because they transmit their memories pervaded by beliefs, myths and superstitions that, although should be respected by nurses and other health professionals, can sometimes contribute to the occurrence of omphalitis and neonatal tetanus.
This study evaluated the work capacity of motorcycle taxi drivers and its association with sociodemographic and work and quality of life factors. This is a cross-sectional study realized with 392 motorcycle taxi drivers that used a form containing demographic and labor data, Work Capacity Index, the WHOQOL-bref. We employed a descriptive and inferential analysis.

Objective: To synthesize and critically review the literature on interventions aimed at decreasing the burden of stroke survivor caregivers and other associated factors.
Method: The literature search for the present systematic review was performed in PubMed, SciELO, Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) website, and the Virtual Health Library using the following search terms: Stroke AND Caregivers AND Intervention; and Stroke AND Caregivers AND clinical trial. Eight randomized controlled clinical trials (RCT) published between 2008 and 2017 were selected.
Objective: To analyze the correlation between living will and bioethical aspects, professional performance and patient autonomy.
Methods: Theoretical reflection after a search conducted in the Virtual Health Library, PubMed and SciELO databases, using the words "living will", "right of the patient", "bioethics", "personal autonomy" and "health professional", as well as the corresponding terms in Portuguese. Based on the reading, abstracts that met the proposed objective were selected and full texts were subsequently consulted and read critically to support this reflection.
Objective: To evaluate factors associated with the quality of life of intensive care nurses.
Methods: Cross-sectional, exploratory, descriptive study developed in three intensive care units of a public hospital of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, between January and May 2013. The study sample consisted of 40 nurses.
The pathogenesis of metabolic syndrome, i.e. of each of its components, is complex and has not been entirely elucidated.

Data were collected from the Katz instrument, sociodemographic, Zarit Burden Interview, WHOQOL-bref, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression.
This study aimed to evaluate the quality of life of motorcycle taxi drivers and the association with psychosocial characteristics of their work. This was a cross-sectional epidemiological study with a sample of 400 motorcycle taxi drivers in Jequié, Bahia State, Brazil. The study used a form containing demographic and socioeconomic data, WHO Quality of Life-Bref Questionnaire (WHOQOL-Bref), and the Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ).

Carried out in an institution in Sã Paulo, SP, it aimed at the detection of the usage and significance assigned to the defining characteristics, as well as the skills associated to the propaedeutic procedures used in nursing clinical practice to determine such diagnosis.
