The purpose of the study was to determine the antibiotic prescribing pattern of oral health practitioners before and during the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic at Wits Oral Health Centre, South Africa. A retrospective, descriptive study was conducted using a systematic random sample of 698 records of patients who were prescribed antibiotics. Purpose: Despite decades of study, a consensus on therapeutic approaches to condylar fractures remains elusive, and the vexing question of invasive or noninvasive therapy remains to be definitively answered. This randomized clinical study aimed to compare the outcomes of mandibular condylar fractures (MCFs) treated by closed reduction (CR) with those treated by open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF).
Methods: The investigators designed and implemented a randomized controlled trial composed of patients with unilateral or bilateral MCFs.
Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma (KHE) is a rare vascular neoplasm of intermediate malignancy that generally occurs in infancy and early childhood. Typically, the lesion arises from superficial or deep soft tissues of the extremities, trunk and retroperitoneum. The paucity of reported cases of head and neck KHEs is evidence of the rarity of the disease in this region.

Ameloblastomas typically occur in adults and are considered a rarity in the pediatric patient population. We report on the treatment outcome of a pediatric patient who presented with a unicystic ameloblastoma in the mandible. A 15-year-old boy presented with a large, expansile lesion in the ramus-angle region of the mandible.
