Introduction: We investigated the effect vigorous physical activity (VPA) on the risk of incident mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and probable dementia among individuals with high-risk hypertension.

Methods: Baseline self-reported frequency of VPA was categorized into low VPA (<1 session/week), and high VPA (≥1 session/week). We used multivariate Cox regression analysis to examine the association of VPA categories with incident MCI and probable dementia events.

Background: Hypercholesterolemia (HCL) is common among emergency department (ED) and ED observation unit (EDOU) patients with chest pain but is not typically addressed in these settings. The objective of this study was to assess patient attitudes towards EDOU-based HCL care using the Health Belief Model.

Background: Emergency Department Observation Unit (EDOU) patients with chest pain have a high prevalence of smoking, a key cardiovascular disease risk factor. While in the EDOU, there is an opportunity to initiate smoking cessation therapy (SCT), but this is not standard practice. This study aims to describe the missed opportunity for EDOU-initiated SCT by determining the proportion of smokers who receive SCT in the EDOU and within 1-year of EDOU discharge and to evaluate if SCT rates vary by race or sex.

Limited research exists regarding the most aggressive forms of hepatoblastoma. Cell lines of the rare subtypes of hepatoblastoma with poor prognosis are not only difficult to attain but also challenging to characterize histologically. A community-driven approach to educating parents and families, regarding the need for donated tissue, is necessary for scientists to have access to resources for murine models and drug discovery.
