Background: Additional anterolateral ligament (ALL) reconstruction has been associated with improved clinical outcomes and reduced failure rates in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. Despite the excellent clinical results reported, there is still a heated debate about its indications. Currently, the indications are mainly based on the patient's clinical criteria and not the imaging diagnosis of the injury of this ligament.

One of these is myosin-binding protein C (MYBPC3), being previously associated with a favourable prognosis. Our objective is to describe the clinical characteristics and events of a molecularly homogeneous HCM cohort associated with truncating variants.

Displacement of this fracture frequently indicates a surgical treatment to restore posterior cruciate ligament function. Several approaches have been proposed in the literature, either open or arthroscopic, which can be tricky due to the fracture's proximity to the popliteal vascular-nervous elements.

Beyond the well-known and well-described intra- and extra-articular causes of postoperative stiffness, the present study introduces the concept of a central reflex motor inhibition mechanism called arthrogenic muscle inhibition (AMI). AMI occurs after trauma and can be defined as active knee extension deficit due to central impairment of Vastus Medialis Obliquus (VMO) contraction, often associated with spinal reflex hamstring contracture.

The primary aim of this study was to compare the incidence of chondral lesions 1year after ACL reconstruction, while taking into consideration preoperative chondral damage, in patients with and without a preoperative LFNS. The primary outcome measure was the presence of chondral lesions involving the lateral femoral condyle, confirmed on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using the Outerbridge classification, at 1year postoperative.

The aim of this study was to describe the management of suspected axillary artery injury associated with PHF according to our experience and to describe a new multidisciplinary surgical approach.
Methods: This was a single-center retrospective study.
Background: While various techniques have been described to augment the anterolateral side of the knee, such as lateral extra-articular tenodesis and anterolateral ligament (ALL) reconstruction (ALLR), it is unclear how they affect clinical outcomes. The aim of this study was to compare the results of 2 ALLR techniques for combined anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)/ALL reconstruction.
Hypothesis: The graft rupture rate, complications, and patient-reported outcomes are similar between a reconstruction technique using a continuous gracilis graft (CG) and single femoral tunnel for ACL/ALL reconstruction, and one using a separate gracilis graft (SG) and independent femoral tunnels.
Neer's classification for proximal humerus fractures (PHFs) uses 10 mm and 45° thresholds to distinguish displaced fragments. While this system was originally developed referencing 2D X-rays, fracture displacements occur in three dimensions. Our work aimed to develop a standardized and reliable computerized method for measuring PHF 3D spatial displacements.

An increasing number of these procedures are being done while preserving the ST's tibial attachment, but there are no data on the remodeling of an attached ST (aST) graft.
Purpose: To compare graft remodeling on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans at 1 year after ACL reconstruction between standard free ST graft and aST graft.

Background: Congenital absence of the quadriceps is an extremely rare condition whose management is not standardised. The objective of this study was to describe the clinical presentation, treatments, and outcomes of a multicentre cohort.
Hypothesis: Classification of the type of abnormality at birth helps to guide management decisions.

Objective: We aimed to investigate the impact of the toxicological results found in cases of sudden death (SD) and to correlate the clinical, autopsy and genetic findings with the toxicology results.
Materials And Methods: Consecutive SD in people aged between 16 and 50 years with medico-legal autopsies and toxicology studies were included over a 3-year period. The comparison between the toxicological data and demographic characteristics, clinical circumstances, autopsy, and genetic results were taken into account.
The relationship between diabetes and the cardiovascular clinical characteristics of Spanish women with stable ischaemic heart disease was studied in a nationwide cross-sectional study. Diabetes was related to a higher burden of risk factors, comorbidity, multivessel disease and coronary surgery.

In Spain, there are various registries on ischaemic heart disease, although none are exclusively for women. The objectives of the SIRENA study were to describe the clinical profile of women with ischaemic heart disease treated in cardiology consultations, to estimate its prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors and understand its clinical management.

We designed a new experiment in which participants had to memorize 4 targets presented among 4 distractors. Targets were cued during the presentation of distractor objects.

Within the area of congenital heart disease, we reviewed contributions related to sudden death in adult congenital heart disease, the importance of specific echocardiographic parameters in assessing the systemic right ventricle, problems in patients with repaired tetralogy of Fallot and indication for pulmonary valve replacement, and confirmation of the role of specific factors in the selection of candidates for Fontan surgery. The most recent publications in clinical cardiology include a study by a European working group on correct diagnostic work-up in cardiomyopathies, studies on the cost-effectiveness of percutaneous aortic valve implantation, a consensus document on the management of type B aortic dissection, and guidelines on aortic valve and ascending aortic disease.

This article provides cardiologists with a broad overview of recent advances in clinical cardiology that could affect their daily practice in the near future. It discusses new ways of interacting with primary care physicians, the most recent findings on the remote monitoring of chronic disease, and the latest publications on the drugs used in routine clinical practice. The article ends with a summary of the work carried out by the Clinical Cardiology Section of the Spanish Society of Cardiology during the last year.

Periannular lesions in PVE occasionally rupture into adjacent cardiac chambers, leading to aortocavitary fistulae and intracardiac shunting. It is unknown whether the prognosis of patients with aortocavitary fistulae is worse than that of those with nonruptured abscesses.

It is unknown, for example, whether the prognosis of patients with aortocavitary fistulae is worse than that of those with nonruptured abscesses. The aims of this study were to determine the distinct clinical characteristics of patients with aortocavitary fistulae and nonruptured abscesses in native valve IE and to evaluate the impact of fistulization on the outcomes of patients with native aortic valve IE complicated with periannular lesions.

In this new experiment, two important new factors were manipulated: saliency of the global pattern and location of local similarity. The results showed that the saliency of the global form as well as the location of local similarity determines the strength of global and local effects.

Love, Rouder, and Wisniewski (1999) obtained interesting results showing that, in a same/different task on abstract visual scenes, subjects were able to process global properties quickly, even before local properties were identified. Our aim in this work is to explore more fully the complex relationships that exist between local processing and global processing. In our first experiment, we tested the robustness and generality of these global and local effects by using another, very different kind of local element.

Extension of infection in aortic valve IE beyond valvular structures may result in peri-annular complications with resulting necrosis and rupture, and subsequent development of ACF. Aorto-cavitary communications create intra-cardiac shunts, which may result in further clinical deterioration and haemodynamic instability.
