Background: Artificial Intelligence Plaque Analysis (AI-QCPA, HeartFlow) provides, from a CCTA, quantitative plaque burden information including total plaque and plaque subtype volumes. We sought to evaluate the clinical utility of AI-QCPA in clinical decision making.
Methods: One hundred cases were reviewed by 3 highly experienced practicing cardiologists who are SCCT level 3 CCTA readers.
Aims: Coronary computed tomography angiography provides non-invasive assessment of coronary stenosis severity and flow impairment. Automated artificial intelligence (AI) analysis may assist in precise quantification and characterization of coronary atherosclerosis, enabling patient-specific risk determination and management strategies. This multicentre international study compared an automated deep learning-based method for segmenting coronary atherosclerosis in coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) against the reference standard of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS).

Methods: This study is a retrospective review of posts on X (formerly known as tweets) from the COVID-19-TweetIDs dataset from July 2021 and November 2021. Included posts were from crucial time points in the COVID-19 vaccine discourse and contained at least one word related to COVID-19 vaccination and fertility.
Introduction: Despite having a high risk of acquiring sexually transmitted infections, people who inject drugs (PWID) often do not receive recommended HPV screenings due to barriers to healthcare. Guideline-based cervical HPV screening and vaccination can prevent cervical cancer. Low-cost, low-barrier methods for cancer screening and prevention are important for vulnerable communities such as PWID.

There are limited data that evaluate how pharmacists who are integrated within primary care clinics influence proportion of days covered (PDC) and Part D star ratings for the 3 adherence measures: diabetes, hypertension (renin-angiotensin-system antagonists), and cholesterol (statin) medications. To assess the difference in percentage of beneficiaries with a prescription with a PDC of 80% or higher in the adherence prioritization group versus control group. A retrospective cohort study was conducted that collected data from 2019 monthly and end-of-year files provided by Humana Medicare Advantage (MA) Part D for patients attributed to a Banner Medical Group (BMG) primary care provider who filled at least 1 prescription for a medication included in any of the medication adherence classes.

This study examined procedural, clinical, and patient-reported health status outcomes among patients undergoing CTO PCI with specific focus on outcomes for those treated with zotarolimus-eluting stents (ZES).
Methods: Among 500 consecutive patients undergoing attempted CTO PCI, procedural and in-hospital clinical outcomes were examined in addition to the 1-year composite endpoint of death, myocardial infarction, and target lesion revascularization (major adverse cardiac events, MACE).

View Article and Find Full Text PDFInspired by the recent discoveries of circumbinary planets orbiting nine close binary stars, we explore the fate of the former as the latter evolve off the main sequence. We combine binary star evolution models with dynamical simulations to study the orbital evolution of these planets as their hosts undergo common-envelope (CE) stages, losing in the process a tremendous amount of mass on dynamical timescales. Five of the systems experience at least one Roche-lobe overflow and CE stage (Kepler-1647 experiences three), and the binary stars either shrink to very short orbits or coalesce; two systems trigger a double-degenerate supernova explosion.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAn absorptive half-moon aperture mask is experimentally explored as a broad-bandwidth means of eliminating spurious spectral features arising from reprocessed radiation in an infrared Fourier transform spectrometer. In the presence of the spatial filter, an order of magnitude improvement in the fidelity of the spectrometer baseline is observed. The method is readily accommodated within the context of commonly employed instrument configurations and leads to a factor of two reduction in optical throughput.
