Haemorrhagic polymorphic light eruption: two cases of a rare variant.

Polymorphic light eruption is a common photosensitivity disorder of unknown aetiology, that usually presents in the spring or summer months as an intermittent non-scarring, itchy erythematous, papulo-vesicular eruption. We present two cases of haemorrhagic polymorphic light eruption, a rare variant of this condition of which there are no case reports in the literature.

Mucocutaneous leishmaniasis presenting as facial cellulitis.

We report a case of mucocutaneous leishmaniasis caused by Leishmania viannia braziliensis. Despite several courses of both oral and intravenous antibiotics no improvement was seen. This case highlights the importance of taking a thorough history, including details of recent travel, and considering rarer causes when no improvement with antibiotics is seen.
