- The study was conducted in the Zakpota sub-district of Benin to gather baseline data on malaria prevalence, vector characteristics, and household conditions for evaluating a new insecticide product, VECTRON™ T500.
- A total of 480 children under 5 years were tested for malaria, and mosquito samples were collected using various trapping methods to assess vector density, infectivity, and insecticide resistance.
- The results showed a 19% malaria prevalence among children, high ITN usage, and a significant anaemia rate, with two main mosquito species identified as vectors: Anopheles coluzzii and Anopheles gambiae.
