Article Synopsis
  • Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) for patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) due to internal carotid artery dissection (ICAD) was studied to assess its clinical outcomes and safety compared to other carotid artery issues.
  • The study involved 67 ICAD and 387 non-ICAD patients, showing that ICAD patients were younger and had a significantly higher rate of favorable outcomes (76.6% vs. 42.4%).
  • While icAD patients faced similar complications and lower mortality rates, the findings suggest that MT may be beneficial for ICAD patients in treating AIS.

Introduction: Stakeholder involvement in research is emphasised to improve relevance. We aimed to identify, define and prioritise important research topics seen from the point of view of people with osteoarthritis (OA).

Methods: We invited 1,315 members of the user panel of the Danish Rheumatism Association to answer an electronic survey that included; 1) an open-ended question about important research topics (free-text response option), 2) 15 predefined research topics to be rated for importance and 3) predefined topics grouped into four categories in which the most important was prioritised.

Overloading of tendon tissue with resulting chronic pain (tendinopathy) is a common disorder in occupational-, leisure- and sports-activity, but its pathogenesis remains poorly understood. To investigate the very early phase of tendinopathy, Achilles and patellar tendons were investigated in 200 physically active patients and 50 healthy control persons. Patients were divided into three groups: symptoms for 0-1 months (T1), 1-2 months (T2) or 2-3 months (T3).
