An Explorative Study on the Role of Family Members in Caring for Mental Health Care Users in South Africa.

Background: The ultimate custodians of Mental Health Care Users (MHCUs) when they get discharged from mental health institutions are their family members. Thus, the family members have a significant role in rendering comprehensive and multifaceted care to MHCUs.

Aim: The study investigated the family members' role in the care of mental health care users in South Africa.

'We are working in specialty units'-An exploratory qualitative study.

Aim: To explore related support needs of general nurses in specialty mental health units and provide references for formulating a model to support this population working in mental health care units.

Design: An exploratory qualitative design.

Method: In-depth individual unstructured interviews were performed with 15 general nurses who worked in mental health care units and were selected through purposive sampling.
