We aimed to unveil the underlying pathogenic mechanisms of skin cancer in relation to metabolic factors and pathway mechanisms. This study utilized the TwoSample Mendelian randomization (MR) method to investigate the causal relationship between 1400 plasma metabolites and skin cancer. The primary method employed was the inverse variance weighting (IVW).

Objective: To explore the genetic basis for a Chinese pedigree affected with neurofibromatosis type I (NF1).
Methods: Target capture high-throughput sequencing and Sanger sequencing were carried out to detect the pathological variant in a NF1 patient and his parents.
Results: The proband and his similarly affected father have both harbored a novel nonsense variant of c.
Bladder cancer is one of the most frequently occurring malignant tumors in the urinary system. Sodium butyrate (NaB) is a histone deacetylase inhibitor and exerts remarkable antitumor effects in various cancer cells. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) and autophagy play crucial roles in cancer occurrence and development.

Objective: To investigate the expression of long non-coding RNA-HOTAIR in prostate cancer cells and its effects on the growth and metastasis of the cells.
Methods: Using quantitative reverse-transcription PCR (qRT-PCR), we determined the relative expression of HOTAIR in the normal human prostate epithelial cell line RWPE-I and prostate cancer cell lines PC-3 and DU145. We detected the effects of HOTAIR on the cell cycle and invasiveness of prostate cancer cells by RNA interference, flow cytometry, and Transwell mitration assay.
