Antiepileptic drugs (AEDs), the predominant treatment for epilepsy, are also utilised for migraine, neuropathic pain, and bipolar disorders, accounting for 1% of usage among the common population. There is a greater risk of stroke, heart attack, and arrhythmia among AED users particularly those with enzyme-inducing properties. This systematic review aimed to look into the ischemic stroke risk among AED users, particularly in patients who had never had a cerebrovascular accident before.

Tuberous sclerosis is an uncommon neurocutaneous syndrome characterized by hamartomatous growths with unpredictable progression. Diagnosing and managing neonatal tuberous sclerosis can be challenging. We report a rare case of a 30-day-old male born out of a non-consanguineous marriage who presented with poor suckling and persistent abnormal body movement, required prolonged intensive care, and was diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis with multisystem involvement.

With the eruption of COVID pandemic, many cases of thromboembolic events in association with the COVID infection were reported suggesting the prothrombotic state associated with the infection. After a few years, eventually some of the COVID vaccines came into implementation. With the discovery and implementation of COVID vaccinations, a very few cases have been reported to have developed thromboembolic events, including pulmonary thromboembolism.
