Chinese colposcopists' attitudes toward the colposcopic artificial intelligence auxiliary diagnostic system (CAIADS): A nation-wide, multi-center survey.

Objective: The objective of this study was to assess the attitudes toward the Colposcopic Artificial Intelligence Auxiliary Diagnostic System (CAIADS) of colposcopists working in mainland China.

Methods: A questionnaire was developed to collect participants' sociodemographic information and assess their awareness, attitudes, and acceptance toward the CAIADS.

Results: There were 284 respondents from 24 provinces across mainland China, with 55% working in primary care institutions.

Introduction: Guidelines for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) were initially formulated by the AUA to provide evidence-based reasoning for the management and care of men suffering from lower urinary tract symptoms due to BPH. Recommendations for a urinalysis and validated symptom questionnaire (AUA Symptom Score [AUASS]/International Prostate Symptom Score [IPSS]) have been long standing, making these data points a metric for examining guidelines adherence.

Methods: A survey assessed providers' awareness of AUA BPH guidelines and practice patterns, and was sent to a randomly selected portion of the AUA membership.

Gaze Sharing, a Double-Edged Sword: Examining the Effect of Real-Time Gaze Sharing Visualizations on Team Performance and Situation Awareness.

Objective: The goal of this study was to assess how different real-time gaze sharing visualization techniques affect eye tracking metrics, workload, team situation awareness (TSA), and team performance.

Background: Gaze sharing is a real-time visualization technique that allows teams to know where their team members are looking on a shared display. Gaze sharing visualization techniques are a promising means to improve collaborative performance on simple tasks; however, there needs to be validation of gaze sharing with more complex and dynamic tasks.

Impact of Socioeconomic Status on Patient Adherence in Managing Renal Masses.

Introduction: Previous literature suggests socioeconomic status and racial disparities impact management decisions for patients with small renal masses. We aim to build upon these findings and examine how these modalities impact patient adherence to their management plan.

Methods: This retrospective study analyzed our Kidney Tumor Program database (n = 1476) containing patients from 2000 to 2020.

Introduction: The United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1 test evolved into a key metric utilized by program directors (PDs) in assessing candidates for residency. The transition to a USMLE Step 1 binary pass/fail scoring system has resulted in a loss of an important objective assessment. With national movements toward pass/fail systems for clerkship grading and trends toward abandonment of class ranking, assessing residency applications has become increasingly challenging.

Electron cryo-microscopy image-processing workflows are typically composed of elements that may, broadly speaking, be categorized as high-throughput workloads which transition to high-performance workloads as preprocessed data are aggregated. The high-throughput elements are of particular importance in the context of live processing, where an optimal response is highly coupled to the temporal profile of the data collection. In other words, each movie should be processed as quickly as possible at the earliest opportunity.

Establishing Natural Tactile Mappings: Mapping Tactile Parameters to Continuous Data Concepts.

There has been limited work developing natural mappings between tactile signals and common data concepts in data rich domains. If these mappings can be established, tactile displays can become more intuitive and readily adopted. The present study aims to identify general natural mappings between perceptual dimensions of vibration and continuous data concepts.

eHealth, family-based interventions, and multilevel approaches to pediatric weight management: a scoping review.

Objective: This scoping review examines the current literature on technology-based, eHealth interventions that integrate community and clinical approaches for family-based pediatric weight management.

Background: Telehealth and eHealth interventions for weight management are increasingly commonplace; however, it is unclear in the current literature how family-based, pediatric, healthy-weight interventions integrate technology. Additionally, multilevel approaches to address childhood obesity, including working with clinical and community partners, are currently considered best practice and within the socioecological framework for sustainability of outcomes.

Interruptions in bladder cancer care during the COVID-19 public health emergency.

Background: Academic and community urology centers participating in a pragmatic clinical trial in non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer completed monthly surveys assessing restrictions in aspects of bladder cancer care due to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. Our objective was to describe pandemic-related restrictions on bladder cancer care.

Methods: We invited 32 sites participating in a multicenter pragmatic bladder cancer trial to complete monthly surveys distributed through REDCap beginning in May 2020.

Trauma-informed parenting intervention for veterans: A preliminary uncontrolled trial of Strength at Home-Parents.

Trauma exposure and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are highly prevalent in military and veteran populations and are associated with parenting difficulties. Unfortunately, there is a lack of accessible, trauma-informed, and evidence-based parenting support interventions within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Strength at Home-Parents (SAHP) is a trauma-informed psychotherapy group that aims to improve parenting behaviors and overall parent-child and family functioning among U.

Persistent opioid and benzodiazepine use after radical cystectomy in enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) patients.

Objectives: Opioid use, misuse, and diversion is of paramount concern in the United States. Radical cystectomy is typically managed with some component of opioid pain control. We evaluated persistent opioid and benzodiazepine use after radical cystectomy and assessed the impact of their preoperative use on this outcome.

Impact of nutritional compliance within ERAS protocols for hepatopancreatobiliary, radical cystectomy, and head and neck procedures: A case-matched analysis adjusted for major complications.

Background: Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS®) pathways aim to improve patient outcomes by applying multimodal practices before, during, and after operative procedures. Compared with standard care before ERAS, we investigated whether compliance to ERAS guidelines for nutritional care, preoperative oral carbohydrate loading and postoperative oral nutrition, was associated with a decrease in hospital length of stay (LOS) after pancreaticoduodenectomy, distal pancreatectomy, hepatectomy, radical cystectomy, and head and neck tumor resection with reconstruction.

Examining Pediatric Resident Electronic Health Records Use During Prerounding: Mixed Methods Observational Study.

Background: Electronic health records (EHRs) play a substantial role in modern health care, especially during prerounding, when residents gather patient information to inform daily care decisions of the care team. The effective use of the EHR system is crucial for efficient and frustration-free prerounding. Ideally, the system should be designed to support efficient user interactions by presenting data effectively and providing easy navigation between different pages.

Renal Mass Biopsy Mandate Is Associated With Change in Treatment Decisions.

Purpose: To prevent avoidable treatment and make more informed care decisions about small renal masses, the use of renal mass biopsies has increased since the early 2000s. In April 2017, Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center began requiring biopsies before all percutaneous thermal ablation procedures for renal masses. We aim to determine the effect of this preablation biopsy mandate on small renal mass treatment decisions.

Preparing the Next Generation of Clinicians for Practice Using Augmented and Artificial Intelligence.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and Augmented Intelligence (AuI) have existed for decades but have only recently been applied to dentistry and incorporated into higher education for dental professionals. Early examples of the incorporation of AI into dental education suggest it can enhance students' learning and can be applied in pre-clinical and clinical instruction. AI can be used to support clinical decision-making for dental professionals, making radiographic interpretation more precise and consistent.

Pilot trial of , a trauma-informed parenting support treatment for veterans.

PTSD is associated with compromised parenting which is not adequately addressed in available evidence-based PTSD treatments. is a trauma-informed parenting intervention which aims to improve parenting behaviors and overall parent-child functioning. Here we report pilot data obtained in a sample of veterans (=21) with PTSD and parent-child functioning difficulties.

Workload transition rate matters: Evidence from growth curve modeling.

This research examined three specific gaps in the workload transition literature: (1) the impact of workload transition rate, (2) the applicability of current theoretical explanations, and (3) the variability of performance overall and over time. Sixty Naval flight students multitasked in an unmanned aerial vehicle control testbed and workload transitioned at three rates: slow, medium, or fast. Response time and accuracy were analyzed via growth curve modeling.

Scan-based eye tracking measures are predictive of workload transition performance.

Given there is no unifying theory or design guidance for workload transitions, this work investigated how visual attention allocation patterns could inform both topics, by understanding if scan-based eye tracking metrics could predict workload transition performance trends in a context-relevant domain. The eye movements of sixty Naval flight students were tracked as workload transitioned at a slow, medium, and fast pace in an unmanned aerial vehicle testbed. Four scan-based metrics were significant predictors across the different growth curve models of response time and accuracy.

Impact of dedicated renal enhanced recovery after surgery (RERAS) program on postoperative opioid consumption and evaluation of surgeon-specific compliance to the program.

Introduction And Objective: Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols have been increasingly applied to urologic surgeries such as cystectomy and prostatectomy, though research defining protocols and outcomes for renal ERAS programs (RERAS) for nephrectomy remains limited. We aim to assess perioperative outcomes following implementation of our RERAS protocol modified from ERAS society cystectomy guidelines, as well as describe compliance with protocol guidelines.

Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort analysis of 400 patients who underwent partial or radical nephrectomy between October 2017 and August 2020.
