Cleft lip and/or palate, a treatable congenital condition, affects around 1 in 700 births, placing a large burden of care on those affected. A multidisciplinary approach to treating the patient involves not only cleft surgery but also a wide array of treatments and preventative therapies to prevent further disease. In this review, the otolaryngology subspecialties, otology and audiology, are discussed in relation to orofacial clefts.
