On the basis of 118 cases of Kaposi's sarcoma observed in different African countries, the authors study the distribution of this disease according to age and sex. They suggest a test to compare various populations independently of their behaviour versus medical structures. The test is based on a simultaneous study of Kaposi's sarcoma and malignant melanoma.

From 1961 to 1975, researches on salmonellosis have been carried out in Hospital Grall, in Saigon, mainly during two periods (1961-1964, then 1971-1975). 607 strains of Salmonella have been isolated for these 15 years (558 S. typhi and 49 Salmonella, among several other serotypes).

In a long term research programme of Centre Muraz a study on salmonellosis in Upper Volta has been carried out, at Bobo-Dioulasso, from 1966 to 1977. Investigations have been executed at Centre Muraz, at Bobo-Dioulasso hospital and at Ouagadougou hospital. All the strains of Salmonella were collected at Centre Muraz by biology laboratory, which is a reference service for Upper Volta.

The duration of action of the drug Antemal, a combination of Pyrimethamine and Sulfametopyrazine, was eveluated in Bobo-Dioulasso, Upper Volta, West Africa, and endemic zone for Plasmodium falciparum malaria. The study was held during the season of maximum malaria transmission. 79 persons presenting with an acute attack of malaria were studied; 37 persons received a single dose of chloroquine sulfate (Nivaquine), at a dose of 15 mg.
