Objectives: Single-visit testing and treatment for syphilis can reduce follow-up visits. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the performance and treatment outcomes of two dual syphilis/HIV point-of-care tests (POCTs).

Methods: Participants aged 16 years and older were offered concurrent syphilis/HIV POCTs with fingerstick blood sampling using two extremely rapid (<5 minutes) devices (MedMira Multiplo Rapid TP/HIV test and INSTI Multiplex HIV-1/HIV-2/Syphilis Antibody Test).

Background: Anti-HIV-1 IgM antibody is an important immunoassay target for early HIV antibody detection.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to determine if the early HIV antibody sensitivity of the 60s INSTI test is due to detection of anti-HIV-1 IgM in addition to IgG.

Study Design: To demonstrate HIV gp41 IgM antibody capture by the INSTI HIV-1 gp41 recombinant antigen, an HIV-IgM ELISA was conducted with commercial HIV-1 seroconversion samples.

Background: Plasma human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) RNA level is an important parameter for patient management, yet viral load assays from different manufacturers are not standardized.

Objectives And Study Design: In this study, we evaluated the concordance between test results obtained for 1,000 plasma specimens collected from HIV-1-infected individuals measured with the VERSANT HIV-1 RNA 3.0 assay (bDNA) and the COBAS AMPLICOR HIV-1 MONITOR 1.
