The 1 : 2 adducts of copper(I) halides with 1,2-bis(2-pyridylphosphino)ethane (d2pype) have been synthesized and solution properties characterized by variable temperature (1)H, (31)P and (65)Cu NMR spectroscopy. Single-crystal structure determinations for the chloride, bromide and iodide complexes show these to crystallize from acetonitrile in the triclinic space group P1 as isostructural centrosymmetric dimers [(d2pype)Cu(mu-d2pype)(2)Cu(d2pype)]X(2).(solvent) with a approximately 12.

The gold and silver compounds overcame cisplatin-resistance in the CH1-cisR, 41M-cisR and SKOV-3 cell-lines, and showed cytotoxic potencies strongly correlated with their lipophilicity. Complexes with phenyl or 2-pyridyl ligands had high antitumour and hepatotoxic potency and low selectivity between different cell-lines.

The study population consisted of 243 patients with unilateral involvement who had reached skeletal maturity at last follow-up. All hips were treated by containment methods (which included bed rest and traction in abduction, Petri cast, brace, varus osteotomy, Salter osteotomy, and shelf acetabuloplasty).

Unlabelled: Pelvic support osteotomies for chronically dislocated hips improve stability but result in limb-length discrepancy and valgus deformity of the knee. We prospectively evaluated and followed up 16 patients (14 females, two males) to ascertain whether a monolateral external fixator could achieve a pelvic support osteotomy and eliminate the limb-length discrepancy without disturbing knee motion. The patients had a mean age of 25.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA new technique using a hinged external fixator to stabilize an open reduction with pelvic and femoral osteotomies has been developed for treating high-dislocated hips in older children with developmental dislocated hip (DDH). This technique was performed in 11 patients (12 hips) at a mean age of 8.2 years.

The study population consisted of 261 patients with unilateral involvement who had reached skeletal maturity at last follow-up. All hips were treated by containment methods (bed rest and traction in abduction, Petri cast, brace, varus osteotomy, Salter osteotomy, and shelf acetabuloplasty).
