Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) in collaborative practice represent a diverse and valuable group of health care professionals, including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse anesthetists, and nurse midwives. Because these healthcare professionals have been identified as part of the solution to physician shortages, it is critical for health networks to examine and address issues affecting collaborative relationships. We invited our network APCs to participate in focus group sessions to determine both attributes and barriers to an ideal work environment.

Study Objective: To measure procedure-related hospital readmissions within 30 days after discharge for patients who have a hysterectomy for benign disease. Secondary outcome quality measures evaluated were cost, estimated blood loss, length of stay and sum of costs associated with readmissions.

Myelolipoma is a rare benign tumor composed of mature adipose tissue and normal hematopoietic elements. Extra-adrenal myelolipomas are extremely rare, with approximately 50% of cases occurring in the presacral region. We report a case of an 85 year old woman who presented with small bowel obstruction relating to a pelvic mass detected on computed tomography (CT) scan.
