Background: Diet is considered a determinant of weight status, however, more evidence is needed for children. The Mediterranean diet (MedDiet) is one of the healthiest worldwide. This study analyzes the prospective association between adherence to the MedDiet at baseline and changes in standardized body mass index (zBMI) and the incidence of excessive weight.

The objective of this article is to determine the effectiveness, drug survival, and safety, including pregnancy, childbirth, and lactation, of certolizumab in moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis under real-world conditions.
Methods: This is a retrospective, multicenter, observational study performed in 15 hospitals in Spain.
In recent years, the application of metagenomics techniques has advanced our understanding of plankton communities and their global distribution. Despite this progress, the relationship between the abundance distribution of diatom species and varying marine environmental conditions remains poorly understood. This study, leveraging data from the Oceans expedition, tests the hypothesis that diatoms in sampled stations display a consistent species abundance distribution structure, as though they were sampled from a single ocean-wide metacommunity.

A growing body of work suggests that the material properties of biomolecular condensates ensuing from liquid-liquid phase separation change with time. How this aging process is controlled and whether the condensates with distinct material properties can have different biological functions is currently unknown. Using Caenorhabditis elegans as a model, we show that MEC-2/stomatin undergoes a rigidity phase transition from fluid-like to solid-like condensates that facilitate transport and mechanotransduction, respectively.

Optimal diagnosis and treatment of pain require a multidisciplinary approach that demands considerable coordination and forethought. A cross-sectional physician survey based on an online questionnaire was carried out to assess the adoption of multidisciplinary working patterns, compare the public and private models, and provide an update on the resources and organization of specialized pain care in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. Active pain practitioners identified through the Catalan Health Service and Pain Society databases were sent an invitation in December 2020.

Objectives: To investigate the impact of moderate-to-severe psoriasis in MTX-treated patients in Spain regarding to HRQoL, psoriasis clinical data and risk of hepatic fibrosis.
Methods: Observational, non-interventional, cross-sectional, retrospective, multicentre study, performed in Spain in moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis patients treated with MTX > 16 weeks prior to inclusion.
Background: The main objective of this research was to evaluate the acceptance of technology based on a wearable lifelogging camera in a sample of older adults diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
Methods: A mixed-method design was used, consisting of a self-report questionnaire, numerous images taken by users, and a series of focus group discussions. The patients were involved in an individualized training programme.
Some patients with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) develop severe inflammatory lesions of the nape. Through a single-center, cross-sectional study with a total of 377 patients, we sought to compare patients with and without nape involvement, to determine whether disease severity is greater in these patients and to describe their clinical characteristics. Thirty patients (90% male) were identified as having nape involvement.

Objective: To establish recommendations to determine, identify, and manage the psychological and emotional needs of patients with chronic inflammatory skin diseases in clinical practice.
Methods: A guided discussion was held at meeting of a nominal group of expert dermatologists and psychologists on the psychological and emotional needs of patients with chronic inflammatory skin diseases, how to manage these cases, and which referral criteria to employ. Based on the results of the discussion, and with the aid of a patient focus group and a review of the literature, a master document was drawn up with recommendations for discussion.

Background: Ixekizumab (anti-IL17A) is effective as treatment for moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, but real-life data on effectiveness and safety are currently very limited.
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of ixekizumab in a cohort of real-life plaque psoriasis patients.
Methods: Retrospective chart review of 100 patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis treated with ixekizumab at seven Spanish dermatological centres.
Background: The objective of the study was to estimate the prevalence of pure central neuropathic pain (CNP) and peripheral neuropathic pain (PNP) among patients attending pain clinics in Spain. The study also aimed to analyze factors associated with pain intensity and quality of life (QoL).
Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed including 53 patients with pure CNP and 281 with pure PNP attending in 104 pain clinics in Spain.
Introduction: Osteoarthritis of the trapeziometacarpal (TMC) joint of the thumb - also known as rhizarthrosis - is painful and has a significant impact on quality of life. Intra-articular injection of hyaluronic acid may potentially meet the need for effective, minimally invasive intervention in patients not responding adequately to initial treatment. We aimed to confirm the safety and effectiveness of viscosupplementation with Durolane (NASHA nonanimal hyaluronic acid) in rhizarthrosis.

Objective: To study how the members of the leading Spanish association of patients with psoriasis and their relatives view the group's functioning.
Material And Methods: Survey study using a self-administered questionnaire answered by members of the association (total membership, 26 349 persons).

Background: There is insufficient information on how best to treat moderate to severe psoriasis in difficult clinical circumstances.
Material And Methods: We considered 5 areas where there is conflicting or insufficient evidence: pediatric psoriasis, risk of infection in patients being treated with biologics, psoriasis in difficult locations, biologic drug survival, and impact of disease on quality of life. Following discussion of the issues by an expert panel of dermatologists specialized in the management of psoriasis, participants answered a questionnaire survey according to the Delphi method.

Background: Understanding the patient referral patterns and medical profiles of patients attending hospital pain clinics, and the therapies offered to them, can provide a useful starting point for evaluating their effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement.
Methods: A prospective observational study was carried out. Sociodemographic and clinical data were gathered at twelve centres.

Methotrexate (MTX) is the most frequently used conventional systemic drug in the treatment of psoriasis. Despite over 50years of experience in this setting, certain aspects of the use of this drug in clinical practice are still little standardized and poorly understood. For this reason, a group of 15 experts took part in a consensus development conference to achieve consensus on a series of recommendations on the use of MTX in psoriasis.

The main objective of this study was to estimate the prevalence of LTBI in patients with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis being treated in dermatology clinics in Spain.
Material And Method: Non-interventional, cross-sectional, national epidemiological study conducted in Spain in 2011-2012.
Introduction: The morphogenic complexities of dens invaginatus (DI) Oehlers type 3 in maxillary canines offer significant endodontic challenges.
Methods: A case report is provided of a 14-year-old female patient who presented with an anomalous-looking permanent maxillary canine associated with a sinus tract. Pulp testing revealed a normal response on the distal aspect of the tooth, whereas the mesial segment tested nonresponsive.
Introduction And Objectives: Up to 30% of patients with psoriasis develop joint disease, the course of which can be improved by early diagnosis and treatment. The aim of this study was to describe our experience with a new multidisciplinary psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis unit over a period of 4 years (2009-2012).
Material And Methods: Implementation of a PSOriasis Rheumatology and Dermatology unit (PSORD) to provide patient care and physician training.
