Ukraine faced significant fluctuations in COVID-19 morbidity and mortality, alongside an escalating HIV epidemic. This mixed-methods study, conducted between February and August 2022, employed a sequential explanatory design combining a quantitative analysis of national data and qualitative interviews to investigate the pandemic's effects on HIV services in Ukraine. The observed trends confirmed that the pandemic significantly disrupted facility-based HIV testing due to logistical challenges, an increased burden on healthcare workers, and supply shortages.

Objectives: The effectiveness of HIV index testing (IT) in Eastern Europe has not been described. This study reports the performance of a scaled IT programme in Ukraine.

Design: This observational study included clients enrolled in IT services in 2020, and used routinely collected data from programme registers and the national electronic health record system.

Objective: The aim: To analyze the mRNA gene expression level of Aire, Deaf1, Foxp3, Ctla4, Il10, Nlrp3 and distribution of NLRP3+-cells in mesenteric lymph nodes (MLNs) of the offspring of rats with GD, both untreated and treated with glibenclamide and in conditions of insulin oral tolerance formation.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: The study involves 160 male rats, one- or six-month-old. The mRNA genes expression was studied by real time quantitative poly¬merase chain reaction.

Background: Achievement of the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets requires ARV regimens that are easy to use, well-tolerated, and cost-effective. Dolutegravir (DTG)-based regimens are efficacious and less costly than other common first-line regimens. This study assessed real-world effectiveness of DTG regimens in treatment-naive people living with HIV in Ukraine.

In 2017, the government of Ukraine initiated its ART Optimization Initiative, revising its national antiretroviral therapy (ART) guidelines and embracing Dolutegravir (DTG) as a backbone of first-line ART regimens. A cross-sectional survey of 464 ART patients from 22 large ART clinics was carried out in mid-2019. The survey assessed patient-reported outcomes (PROS) including treatment satisfaction, physical health, mental health, depression, side effects of ART, and adherence.

Objective: The aim: To evaluate the parameters of menstrual function in 1015 women of reproductive age and to establish the relationship between the detected menstrual disorders and the development of migraine and/or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: During 2018-2020, a survey of women of reproductive age in the Ternopil region (Ukraine) was conducted. To interview the study respondents, we developed a questionnaire that assessed the parameters of menstrual function (age of menarche; regularity and cyclicity of menstrual changes; duration of the menstrual cycle and menstruation itself; the amount of blood loss with the pictogram, the presence of clots and their size) identify characteristic changes in health, symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and migraine associated with the menstrual cycle.

Objective: The aim: With the help of biochemical and morphological methods of investigation to identify the causes of a false postoperative recurrence of varicose veins after the EVLC.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: In 173 patients with varicose veins of the lower extremities, the level of markers of endothelial dysfunction was determined: P-selectin, E-selectin, tissue plasminogen activator, endothelin-1, adhesion molecules of type 1 vascular endothelium (sVCAM-1-soluble vascularcellularmolecula), circulating endothelial cells (CEC) before surgery (EVLC), on the 10th and 60th day of the postoperative period. At the same time, a morphological and electron microscopic examination of the state of the deep venous system in 31 patients with varicose vein disease of the lower extremities who died from acute heart failure, was performed.

Introduction: Developmental dysplasia of hip (DDH) remains one of the most common and severe congenital pathologies in infants. The best results of DDH treatment are observed in early-infancy up to 3 months. A sonographic examination was long recognized as a “golden standard” of early diagnosis of hip dysplasia, but some practitioners still do not trust this method through a certain number of pseudo-positive and pseudo-negative diagnoses.

In chronic pancreatitis patients was found persistent state of oxidative stress on the level of malonic aldehyde, which ran against the lowered levels of antioxidant enzymatic and non-enzymatic composition, and it has been found in the state of hypoproteinemia proteinogram indices (P < 0.05). The use of complex treatment of patients with chronic pancreatitis multivitamin-aminoacid drug Moriamin forte contributes to a significant regression effects oxidative stress and reduces the effects of hypoproteinemia (P < 0.

The genetic polymorphism of metabolizers of tobacco smoke carcinogens can influence individual susceptibility to lung cancer. The study was concerned with the Mspl-polymorphism of the CYP1A1 gene responsible for encoding aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase. It also plays a role in the activation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH).

The efficiency of long-term intermittent use of trinitrolong (TNL) and continuous oral use of sustac (ST) was compared in 44 patients with angina of effort, showing particularly good response to long-acting nitrates, as evidenced by paired bicycle ergometric tests. The efficacy of nitroderm (ND) adhesive tape applied on the skin was also assessed in 10 patients. TNL had better antianginal effect, and allowed a higher stress tolerance level, as compared to ST.
