The study aimed to determine if virtual reality (VR) games could enhance neuromuscular control and improve anticipatory and compensatory strategies in ball-kicking for soccer players. It was a single-blind randomized clinical trial involving 32 male soccer players with chronic ankle instability. Participants were divided into two groups: VR games and balance training.

We recruited 21 patients from September 2023 until January 2024 from two referral centers. We enrolled 21 age-sex-matched controls retrospectively.

Methods: A total of 50 eyes of 29 diabetic patients without severe complications were included in this comparative case series. Of these, twenty-eight eyes (15 patients) were assigned to the PRP group, while twenty-two eyes (14 patients) were treated with the biosimilar (IVB) (Stivant CinnaGen Co.

Doxorubicin (DOX) is an anthracycline commonly used as a first-line treatment option for various malignancies, either as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with other chemotherapeutic agents. However, its efficacy in advanced cancer stages requires high doses, resulting in significant cytotoxicity to normal cells and severe side effects. Nanotechnology offers a promising strategy to mitigate these drawbacks through controlled drug release.

The clinical spectrum of the disease is remarkably broad, and its presentations mimic features of polyarteritis nodosa, such as livedoid rash, hematological abnormalities (e.g.

Effective optimal pharmacotherapy requires a comprehensive understanding of the drug's pharmacokinetic properties. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) influences medication pharmacokinetics. However, whether sex differences exist in the pharmacokinetics of drugs for children with CKD is unknown.

Using optical coherence tomography angiography, we reviewed the medical records of 46 treatment-naïve patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) who received intravitreal aflibercept injections. The change in BCVA from baseline to 3 months and 12 months after treatment was recorded.

This phenomenon is a severe neuropsychiatric disorder with a 1% worldwide prevalence. As SCZ is an exclusively human disorder, animal models cannot mimic SCZ pathophysiology.

Although various image processing techniques have been presented, they may degrade the contrast of denoised images. The proposed idea in this study is to use a deep neural network as the denoising procedure during the iterative reconstruction process rather than the post-reconstruction phase.

Thus, understanding the sources of water used by plants in these areas is crucial for effective resource management. In this study, we investigated the water use pattern of Haloxylon ammodendron in Semnan province, in the central plateau of Iran, using the stable isotope analysis.

Methods: In a cross-sectional study, 141 healthy subjects underwent an assessment of refraction and best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), axial length (AL), and measurement of the intraocular pressure. The imaging of the choroid was performed using the enhanced-depth imaging mode of Spectralis optical coherence tomography from the foveal slab to measure SFCT and calculate CVI.
Introduction: Gabapentin is an antiepileptic drug that alleviates neuropathic pain. Its oral use reduces the intensity of pruritus in patients receiving chronic dialysis therapy. However, it could lead to toxicity because of the patients' renal deficiency.

The purpose of the current study was to investigate whether diminished activity of ovarian enzymes responsible for hydrogen sulfide (HS) production, cystathionine β-synthase (CBS), and cystathionine γ-lyase (CSE) contributes to oxidative stress in PCOS. The study also explored whether administration of sodium hydrosulfide (NaSH), an HS donor, could ameliorate PCOS symptoms by reducing oxidative stress.

Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells, widely acknowledged as the preferred host system for industrial recombinant protein manufacturing, play a crucial role in developing pharmaceuticals, including anticancer therapeutics. Nevertheless, mammalian cell-based biopharmaceutical production methods are still beset by cellular constraints such as limited growth and poor productivity. MicroRNA-21 (miR-21) has a major impact on a variety of malignancies, including glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).

Our approach uses a causal metric which combines Probabilistic Easy Variational Causal Effect (PEACE) with the XGBoost, or eXtreme Gradient Boosting, algorithm. Unlike prior research, which often relied on statistical models to reduce dataset dimensions before causal analysis, our approach uses the complete dataset with PEACE and the XGBoost algorithm.

Methods: This population-based cross-sectional survey was conducted in Fars province in 2023. Adult participants with a history of COVID-19 were recruited using a cluster random sampling method, alongside a control group with similar characteristics through the same methodology.
Food insecurity (FI) and sleep problems are major modifiable health issues among people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH), and there is limited knowledge about their prevalence among this underrepresented population. Our study aimed to assess the relationship between FI and sleep problems as important environmental factors affecting PLWH in Iran. The national survey was conducted on 1185 confirmed HIV-positive patients who attended consulting centers in 15 geographically diverse provinces in Iran, during 2021-2022.
