Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 2731 individuals (1883 Obese and 848 nonobese) aged 35 to 65 years old, were enrolled from the Mashhad Stroke and Heart Atherosclerotic Disorder (MASHAD) study cohort.
Background: Previous studies have reported a high frequency of vitamin D deficiency (VDD) among different age groups in Iran.
Aims: In this study, the current coverage, status of vitamin D supplement taking, and program efficacy have been evaluated by the Office of Nutrition Department Society in Iran since 2014.
Methods: This study was conducted in collaboration with the International UNESCO center for Health-Related Basic Sciences and Human Nutrition and the Office of Nutrition Department Society.
Subject: The Angiopoietin-like 3 (ANGPTL3) gene has been reported to be associated with cardiovascular risk. This study is designed to compare the genetic variant (rs1748195) of the ANGPTL3 gene and the presence of a coronary artery occlusion of >50% in Iranian nation.
Method: In this study, 184 patients underwent angiography and 317 healthy individuals were evaluated for polymorphism of rs1748195 the ANGPTL3 gene using Tetra-ARMs PCR.

Introduction: Dyslipidemia is a known risk factor for cardiovascular disease and is partially determined by genetic variations in the genes involved in lipoprotein metabolism. Therefore, we aimed to assess the association between a polymorphism of the Fatty Acid Binding Protein1 (rs2241883) gene locus and dyslipidemia in an Iranian cohort.
Materials And Methods: This is a case-control study 2737 individuals were recruited (2203 subjects with dyslipidemia and 534 controls).
Introduction: The aim of this study was to establish RIs for clinically important markers including superoxide dismutase (SOD), serum copper, zinc, calcium, magnesium, and phosphate in a cohort of healthy Iranian adults.
Materials: A subsample from MASHAD cohort study was used to assess serum SOD, copper, zinc, calcium, magnesium and phosphate. Serum SOD was measured according to its inhibitory potential of pyrogallol oxidation.

Introduction: We aimed to define specific reference intervals (RIs) for 11 biomarkers including inflammatory and oxidative stress biomarkers, liver, and renal function tests in a healthy Iranian adult population for the first time.
Methods: CLSI Ep28-A3 guidelines were then used to calculate accurate age- and sex- as well as body mass index (BMI)-specific RIs.
Results: RIs for studied biomarkers showed no significant age and sex-specific differences, except for uric acid, which had higher concentrations in men when compared to women.
