Along with the adoption of 5G, the development of neutral host solutions provides a unique opportunity for mobile networks operators to accommodate the needs of emerging use-cases and in the consolidation of new business models. By exploiting the concept of network slicing, as one key enabler in the transition to 5G, infrastructure and service providers can logically split a shared physical network into multiple isolated and customized networks to flexibly address the specific demands of those tenant slices. Motivated by this reality, the H2020 5GCity project proposed a novel 5G-enabled neutral host framework for three European cities: Barcelona (ESP), Bristol (UK), and Lucca (IT).

Paraoxonas1 (PON1) metabolizes xenobiotics, including pesticides. Therefore, we surveyed the relationship between PON1 polymorphisms with its activities in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease.

This paper addresses this problem by proposing a completely democratized optical network infrastructure. It introduces the novel concepts of the optical white box and bare metal optical switch as key technology enablers for democratizing optical networks.

UHD media applications require huge amounts of bandwidth that can only be met with high-capacity optical networks. In addition, there are requirements for control frameworks capable of delivering effective application performance with efficient network utilization.

An efficient end-to-end delivery of packet streams in terms of network control, operation and management is one of the key challenges for the network operators. Therefore, a unified control and management plane for both packet and optical circuit switch domains is a good candidate to address this need.

Central to this architecture is a novel virtual optical network (VON) composition mechanism capable of taking physical layer impairments (PLIs) into account. The impact of PLIs on VON composition is investigated based on both analytical model of PLIs and industrial parameters.
