The current study shows that using a batch approach to remove crystal violet dye from synthetic wastewater is feasible when using royal palm leaf sheath powder as an adsorbent. In order to investigate the effects of many parameters, including starting concentration, pH effect, dye concentration, adsorbent dose, contact time, and temperature, experiments were carried out under various operating conditions. Maximum removal was obtained at pH 6 and at a concentration of 100 ppm, which are considered as ideal values.

Single cell proteomic analysis could offer a suitable pathway to monitor cancer cell heterogeneity and deliver critical information for the diagnosis, recurrence, and drug-resistant mechanisms in cancer. Circulating biomarkers have emerged as promising non-invasive, real-time surrogates for cancer diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of the therapeutic response. Solution processed poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) transparent electrodes (TEs) offer great potential as a low cost alternative to expensive indium tin oxide (ITO). However, strong acids are typically used for enhancing the conductivity of PEDOT:PSS TEs, which produce processing complexity and environmental issues. We conducted 2 experiments to determine lysine bioavailability from 2 lipid-coated lysine products. In an in vitro experiment we mixed each lipid-coated lysine product with either alfalfa- or corn-silage at different amounts of acidity. Scanning electron micrographs indicated that surface structure of each lipid-coated lysine particle was eroded after mixing with silage.

An optimal small amount of water added into methyl ammonium iodide (MAI) solution in isopropyl alcohol (IPA) helps perovskite crystallization and leads to larger grain size from sequential deposition of perovskite films. The concentration of water was varied from 1% to 7% (vol% of IPA) in MAI solution and optical absorption, crystallization, morphology of perovskite films and their photovoltaic performance were studied in perovskite solar cells. 5% by volume was found to lead to preferential crystallization in the (110) plane with grain size about three times that of perovskite films prepared without adding water into the MAI solution.

The role of the metal-active layer interface in photogenerated recombination has been investigated using nanoscale current sensing atomic force microscopy (CS-AFM) and intensity modulated photocurrent spectroscopy (IMPS) in as-deposited, pre-annealed and post-annealed bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells. Aluminum (Al) confined post-annealed BHJ solar cells exhibited a significantly improved device efficiency compared to pre-annealed BHJ solar cells having similar photocarrier harvesting ability in the active layer. The nanoscale topography and CS-AFM results indicate a uniform PCBM rich phase at the metal-active layer interface in the post-annealed cells, but PCBM segregation in the pre-annealed cells.

We have fabricated a nanocomposite of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) sheets and chitosan (Cn) polymer based highly sensitive electrochemical biosensor for detection of bisphenol A (BPA). The two-dimensional structure and chemical functionality of rGO and Cn provide an excellent electrode surface for loading of tyrosinase enzyme molecules. This rGO-Cn nanocomposite is capable of effectively utilizing their superior conductivity, larger effective surface area and superior electrochemical performance due to its synergistic effect between rGO and Cn.

We report the case of a 32-year-old Indian man with symptoms suggesting Zollinger-Ellison syndrome including abdominal pain, esaphagitis, duodenal stenosis that did not improve with antisecretory medication, elevated fasting gastrin serum levels that increased after intravenous secretin injections, elevated chromogranin A serum levels and tumoral aspect of pancreatic uncus on CT scan examination. A pancreaticoduodenectomy was performed. Histological examination of the resected specimen showed that there was no endocrine tumour of the pancreas or the duodenum, but identified marked lesions of follicular and caseous tuberculosis.
