Kikuchi Disease-Like Inflammatory Pattern in Cutaneous Inflammatory Infiltrates Without Lymph Node Involvement: A New Clue for the Diagnosis of Lupus?

Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease (KFD) is a rare and benign disorder that usually occurs in young adults with enlarged lymph nodes containing infiltrate of cytotoxic T cells and nuclear debris. It can be a manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) although the strength of this association has varied among studies. Although specific KFD cutaneous lesions are well described, pure cutaneous lesions have never been reported.

Atypical fibrous histiocytoma of the skin with CD30 and p80/ALK1 positivity and ALK gene rearrangement.

We report the case of a two patients who presented with a solitary, asymptomatic, angiomatoid nodule on the right thigh. Histopathological finding showed a poorly circumscribed lesion, located in the dermis. The morphological aspect strongly suggested the diagnosis of atypical fibrous histiocytoma (AFH), but surprisingly, the neoplastic cells were diffusely CD30+, with a membrane staining devoid of paranuclear dot.

[First cases of squamous cell carcinoma associated with cosmetic use of bleaching compounds].

Introduction: We report two cases of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in two black women (phenotype VI) using bleaching compounds for cosmetic purposes over a period of 15 years.

Case Reports: Two women (aged 45 and 47 years) with a long history of cosmetic use of bleaching compounds consulted at a dermatology unit for skin tumours. A diagnosis of SCC was confirmed by histological examination of tumour biopsies.

Background: Few cases of cutaneous lymphocytic hyperplasia secondary to vaccination have been published, although such lesions are not rare.

Patients And Methods: We report a series of 10 cases registered between 1993 and 2003.

Results: Mean age was 25.

Lymphoepithelial carcinoma is a relatively common malignancy in the nasopharynx, but it rarely occurs in other sites. We report 3 additional cases of cutaneous location. Histopathologically, the tumors consisted of multiple well-circumscribed dermal-hypodermal nodules composed of aggregates of undifferentiated malignant cells.
