In the current study, Azo-Thiohydantoins derivatives were synthesized and characterized by using various spectroscopic techniques including FTIR, H-NMR, C-NMR, elemental and HRMS analysis. The compounds were evaluated for alkaline phosphatase activity and it was observed that among all the synthesized compounds, derivative 7e exhibited substantial inhibitory activity (IC = 0.308 ± 0.

The current study focused on the laboratory approach in conjunction with computational methods for the synthesis and bioactivity assessment of unique 2-tetradecanoylimino-3-aryl-4-methyl-1,3-thiazolines (-). Processes included cyclizing 1-aroyl-3-arylthioureas with propan-2-one in the presence of trimethylamine and bromine. By using spectroscopic techniques and elemental analyses, structures were elucidated.

Article Synopsis
  • Polyphenon 60 (PP60), derived from green tea, exhibits antioxidant and anti-cancer properties, and has been studied for its ability to inhibit tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in melanin production, in both melanoma cells and zebrafish embryos.
  • In experiments, PP60 effectively inhibited tyrosinase activity, showing a lower inhibitory concentration (IC) value compared to the reference drug kojic acid, and significantly reduced melanin content in treated melanoma cells and zebrafish embryos.
  • The results suggest that PP60 could be a promising candidate for skin whitening products in the cosmetic industry due to its effectiveness and low toxicity.
