Sickle cell disease prevents diabetes mellitus occurrence: A hospital based cross-sectional study.

Background: Sickle cell disease is the commonest inherited hemoglobinopathy. There are few reports point towards decrease incidence of diabetes mellitus in sickle cell disease patients.
