A novel approach for monitoring the biomolecular interactions of superparamagnetic nanoparticles was disclosed. Based on ultrafiltration of a human serum-nanoparticle mixture and the mass spectrometric analysis of filtrates, this assay revealed for iron oxide nanoparticles coated with poly(acrylic acid) satisfactory biopersistence and a bimodal binding to sulfur-containing biomolecules, with the formation of the protein corona completed in about 1 h.

A whole group of polymorphisms of genes involved in the formation of the epidermal barrier, immune responses, and their regulation is important in the formation of atopic phenotype. The purpose of the study is to determine the relationship of polymorphisms of genes of Toll-like receptors TLR2 and TLR4 with clinical and immunological parameters in atopic dermatitis patients in a "case-control" study. Polymorphisms of genes TLR2 (p.

Objective: Non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) is increasingly being used in prenatal aneuploidy screening. The objective of this study was to assess the positive predictive value in our cohort of 68 cases with positive NIPT result. In addition, we wondered if the use of NIPT in cases with ultrasound abnormalities is appropriate, given the limited number of chromosomes investigated.

Effect of sweet pepper enriched and non-enriched with Se on Ehrlich carcinoma growth at Balb/c mice was investigated. 1000 mg/kg of both preparations of sweet pepper (per os administration for mice of 9 months age) inhibited an early stage of tumour growth on 42-62% and 37-65% respectively. No effect on tumour growth was registered for 4 months mice.

Results of registration trial of combination vaccine for prevention of hepatitis A and B are presented. The trial was conducted in 5 centers of Russia in 2004-2005 with full accordance to good clinical practice requirements and standards for multicenter open randomized trials. Immunogenicity of studied combination vaccine Twinrix was evaluated in comparison with two simultaneously administered monovalent vaccines against hepatitis A and B (Havrix and Engerix-B) in 200 healthy subjects aged 18-40, which were seronegative to hepatitis A and B.
