Natural disturbances may compromise the past and ongoing efforts to increase carbon sequestration and halt biodiversity loss in boreal forests. Measures to minimize the effects of forest disturbances i.e.

Patients And Methods: A cohort of 200 patients with Chole were randomized into 3D-LC or minilaparotomy cholecystectomy (MC) groups. RAND-36 survey was performed before randomization, four weeks and five years postoperatively.
Background/aim: National healthcare organizers require feedback from patients to improve medical treatment methods. Three-dimensional laparoscopy cholecystectomy (3D-LC) is a modern technique in surgery. However, there are no studies with patient feedback from validated questionnaires assessing the postoperative treatment results in 3D-LC.

The boreal biome is experiencing the highest rates of warming on the planet and increasing demand for forest products. To foresee how to maximize the adaptation of boreal forests to future warmer conditions and growing demands of forest products, we need a better understanding of the relative importance of forest management and climate change on the supply of ecosystem services.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFForest soils represent a large carbon pool and already small changes in this pool may have an important effect on the global carbon cycle. To predict the future development of the soil organic carbon (SOC) pool, well-validated models are needed. We applied the litter and soil carbon model Yasso15 to 1838 plots of the German national forest soil inventory (NFSI) for the period between 1985 and 2014 to enables a direct comparison to the NFSI measurements.

There were 372 women and 34 men with a mean age of 57 years; 119 patients had a bilateral procedure. The elbows were affected by chronic inflammatory disease, usually rheumatoid arthritis, which had been present for a mean of 24.

Severe radiological changes in the hipjoint (Larsen grade 3-5) were observed in 31 (32%) and acetabular protrusion in five (5%) patients 15 years after the onset of arthritis. At the end of follow-up Larsen score 0-100 of peripheral joints (p < 0.

Disturbances in biochemical parameters indicating osteomalacia were frequent. Thirty two per cent of the patients were hypocalcemic, 55% had an increase in S-ALP and 26% in U-HOP, and dU-Ca was decrease in 55%.
