Background: The efficacy and safety of 40 Hz gamma transcranial alternating current stimulation (γ-tACS) in Alzheimer's disease (AD) are still uncertain.

Objective: This meta-analysis was conducted to investigate the therapeutic potential and safety of 40 Hz γ-tACS for AD.

Methods: The meta-analysis was conducted by systematically searching four databases from their start to 28 December 2023.

Clinical efficacy of single-channel percutaneous endoscopic nucleotomy with annulus fibrosus suturing for lumbar disc herniation: A retrospective study.

This retrospective study aimed to investigate the clinical efficacy of single-channel percutaneous endoscopic nucleotomy combined with annulus fibrosus suturing for treating lumbar disc herniation (LDH). The study included 86 patients with LDH treated in our spinal department from August 2020 to January 2022. The suture group consisted of 26 males and 18 females, while the control group (nucleotomy alone) included 25 males and 17 females.

Metformin use is associated with a reduced risk of cognitive impairment in adults with diabetes mellitus: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objective: Controversy exists regarding the impact of metformin and whether it prevents or promotes the incidence of cognitive dysfunction. This systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to identify the effect of metformin therapy on cognitive function in patients with diabetes.

Methods: Electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, PsycINFO, the Cochrane Library, and Web of Science) were systematically searched by two investigators from the date of inception until March 1, 2022.

The total resection rate of glioma can be improved by the application of US-MRI fusion combined with contrast-enhanced ultrasound.

Objective: This study was performed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of ultrasound-magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) fusion combined with contrast-enhanced ultrasound and to explore its role in improving the total tumor resection rate.

Methods: Between January 2018 and December 2018, 16 patients in the observation group and 23 patients in the control group were enrolled in this study. The tumor depth and brain shift distance were analyzed, as well as the peak intensity and microvessel density of different grades of gliomas in the observation group.

Molecular markers, pathology, and ultrasound features of invasive breast cancer.

Introduction: Ultrasound is commonly used in breast cancer screening and diagnosis. The use of ultrasound features to predict the subtypes of invasive breast cancer is of great clinical significance, since it facilitates a fast and early diagnosis and treatment. The correlation between breast lesion ultrasound features and the breast cancer subtypes requires further investigation.

The coexistence of a patent foramen ovale and obstructive sleep apnea may increase the risk of wake-up stroke in young adults.

Background: Patent foramen ovale (PFO) and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) are independent risk factors for young conscious stroke which may also be concomitant symptoms with it. But there is no sufficient attention on these phenomena.

Objective: To investigate the relationship between PFO, OSA and young stroke, and to look for proper treatment.

Resveratrol, an antioxidant, protects spinal cord injury in rats by suppressing MAPK pathway.

Resveratrol, a polyphenol found in various plants, including grapes, plums and peanuts has shown various medIRInal properties, including antioxidant, protection of cardiovascular disease and cancer risk. However, the effects of resveratrol on spinal cord reperfusion injury have not been investigated. Hence, the present study was designed to evaluate the effect of resveratrol on nitric oxide synthase (iNOS)/p38MAPK signaling pathway and to elucidate its regulating effect on the protection of spinal cord injury.

USP3 stabilizes p53 protein through its deubiquitinase activity.

p53 is the guardian of the genome integrity and the degradation of p53 protein is mediated by MDM2. Here we report that USP3 interacts with p53 and regulates p53 stability. Depletion of USP3 lead to accelerated degradation of p53 in normal cells thereby enhanced cell proliferation and transformation.
