Chemotherapy can cause severe pain for patients, but there are currently no satisfactory methods of pain relief. Enhancing the efficacy of chemotherapy to reduce the side effects of high-dose chemotherapeutic drugs remains a major challenge. Moreover, the treatment of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathic pain (CIPNP) is separate from chemotherapy in the clinical setting, causing inconvenience to cancer patients.
