Invasive lobular carcinomas (ILCs) have a low frequency of ERBB2 amplification, therefore restricting the use of conventional anti-HER2 therapies for this histologic special type. Conversely, ILCs with low HER2 overexpression may represent a broader target for the use of emerging antibody drug conjugate therapies targeting HER2, since these treatments have proven effective in HER2-low breast cancers. The carriage of bushmeat into the European Union is an infringement of EU Animal Health and Wildlife Trade legislation and poses a threat to biodiversity and public health. To explore the nature and scale of the international bushmeat trade, seized leaking luggage and passengers arriving at Brussels Zaventem airport from sub-Saharan Africa between 2017 and 2018 were searched for "meat" (bushmeat and livestock) by border control authorities. Visual identification, radiography and genetic analysis were applied to derive information from seized specimens, including at least ten CITES-listed species.

Microsatellites are short tandem repeats of one to six nucleotides that are highly polymorphic and extensively used as genetic markers in numerous biomedical applications, including the detection of microsatellite instability (MSI) in cancer. The standard analytical method for microsatellite analysis relies on PCR amplification followed by capillary electrophoresis or, more recently, next-generation sequencing (NGS). However, their amplification during PCR generates undesirable frameshift products known as stutter peaks caused by polymerase slippage, complicating data analysis and interpretation, while very few alternative methods for microsatellite amplification have been developed to reduce the formation of these artifacts.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, barrier gestures such as mask wearing, physical distancing, greetings without contact, one-way circulation flow, and hand sanitization were major strategies to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2, but they were only useful if consistently applied. Originally used in reference to the management of biological weapons and bio-terrorism, the term biosecurity was first used in the agricultural sector in the 1980s as "the sum of risk management practices in the defence against biological threats". This term was then taken up in different strategic documents of different organisations, so multiple definitions and understandings co-exist.
