Imaging is essential for its diagnosis, performing the pre-therapeutic assessment, guiding possible percutaneous treatments, and providing post-therapeutic follow-up. Musculoskeletal hydatidosis can take several forms that may suggest other infections and tumors or pseudotumors.

Molecular and Clinical Portrait of HER2-low Invasive Lobular Carcinomas.

Invasive lobular carcinomas (ILCs) have a low frequency of ERBB2 amplification, therefore restricting the use of conventional anti-HER2 therapies for this histologic special type. Conversely, ILCs with low HER2 overexpression may represent a broader target for the use of emerging antibody drug conjugate therapies targeting HER2, since these treatments have proven effective in HER2-low breast cancers. To explore the nature and scale of the international bushmeat trade, seized leaking luggage and passengers arriving at Brussels Zaventem airport from sub-Saharan Africa between 2017 and 2018 were searched for "meat" (bushmeat and livestock) by border control authorities. Visual identification, radiography and genetic analysis were applied to derive information from seized specimens, including at least ten CITES-listed species.

Since the implementation of protocolized postoperative linezolid in six French referral centers, linezolid-resistant multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis (LR-MDRSE) strains were isolated in patients with BJI. LT-RPA: An Isothermal DNA Amplification Approach for Improved Microsatellite Genotyping and Microsatellite Instability Detection.

Microsatellites are short tandem repeats of one to six nucleotides that are highly polymorphic and extensively used as genetic markers in numerous biomedical applications, including the detection of microsatellite instability (MSI) in cancer. The standard analytical method for microsatellite analysis relies on PCR amplification followed by capillary electrophoresis or, more recently, next-generation sequencing (NGS). However, their amplification during PCR generates undesirable frameshift products known as stutter peaks caused by polymerase slippage, complicating data analysis and interpretation, while very few alternative methods for microsatellite amplification have been developed to reduce the formation of these artifacts.

Contribution of muscle MRI for diagnosis of myopathy.

Inherited myopathies are a group of disease, which, although distinct from a genetic and prognostic point of view, can lead to non-specific clinical pictures due to phenotypic overlap. Acquired immuno-mediated myopathies may also pose the problem of clinically accurate etiological orientation. The assessment of fatty infiltration and pathological increase in water volume of the muscle contingent on whole-body muscle MRI is becoming increasingly important in aiding the initial diagnosis of inherited and acquired myopathies.

Microsatellite instability detection in breast cancer using drop-off droplet digital PCR.

The use of conventional methods (immunohistochemistry, pentaplex PCR) for detecting microsatellite instability (MSI), a predictive biomarker of immunotherapy efficacy, is debated for cancers with low MSI prevalence, such as breast cancer (BC). We developed two multiplex drop-off droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) assays targeting four microsatellites, initially identified from public BC whole-genome sequencing dataset. Performances of the assays were investigated and 352 tumor DNA and 28 circulating cell-free DNA from BC patients, with unknown MSI status were blindly screened.

Compliance with Barrier Gestures during COVID-19 Pandemic as a Function of the Context: A Longitudinal Observational Survey at the University of Liège.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, barrier gestures such as mask wearing, physical distancing, greetings without contact, one-way circulation flow, and hand sanitization were major strategies to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2, but they were only useful if consistently applied. This survey was a follow-up of the first survey performed in 2020 at the University of Liège. We aim to evaluate the compliance with these gestures on campuses and examine differences in the extent of the compliance observed in different educational activities and contexts.

Coffee is usually subjected to a roasting process which is responsible for the formation of aroma and flavours but also of some undesirable compounds such as furan and alkyl furans. These compounds are known as process contaminants of the roasting process and exhibit some harmful effects. In order to evaluate the exposure to these compounds in coffee, it is necessary to know the levels of contamination as well as consumption habits.

Structure, Dynamics, and Impact of Replication Stress-Induced Structural Variants in Hepatocellular Carcinoma.

Unlabelled: Oncogene activation leads to replication stress and promotes genomic instability. Here we combine optical mapping and whole-genome sequencing (WGS) to explore in depth the nature of structural variants (SV) induced by replication stress in cyclin-activated hepatocellular carcinomas (CCN-HCC). In addition to classical tandem duplications, CCN-HCC displayed frequent intra-chromosomal and interchromosomal templated insertion cycles (TIC), likely resulting from template switching events.

Microsatellite instability (MSI) is a genetic alteration due to a deficiency of the DNA mismatch repair system, where microsatellites accumulate insertions/deletions. This phenotype has been extensively characterized in colorectal cancer and is also sought in the context of Lynch syndrome diagnosis. It has recently been described in dozens of cancer types from whole genome/exome sequencing data, bearing some prognostic information.

Biosecurity Concept: Origins, Evolution and Perspectives.

Originally used in reference to the management of biological weapons and bio-terrorism, the term biosecurity was first used in the agricultural sector in the 1980s as "the sum of risk management practices in the defence against biological threats". This term was then taken up in different strategic documents of different organisations, so multiple definitions and understandings co-exist. This short communication reviews the origins and evolution of the biosecurity concept and discusses the future perspectives of biosecurity in regard to the One Health Approach and the changing environment.

Biosecurity is a key component of any animal and public health strategy and disease prevention and control programs. This study reviewed the main findings of different studies implemented from 2015 to 2021 to analyse the biosecurity situation at Belgian cattle farms, including attitudes and behaviours of cattle farmers and rural veterinarians regarding biosecurity measures. Specifically, the objective was to perform a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis of the situation and propose a new conceptual framework improving the level of biosecurity in the cattle sector.
