The dysfunctional patterns of microstates dynamics in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) remain uncertain. Using high-density electrical neuroimaging (EEG) at rest, we explored microstates deterioration in OCD and whether abnormal microstates patterns are associated with a dysregulation of the resting-state networks interplay. We used EEG microstates analyses, TESS method for sources reconstruction, and General Linear Models to test for the effect of disease severity on neural responses.

Purpose: To compare the impact of two phacoemulsification techniques (subluxation versus divide-and-conquer) on postoperative corneal edema at postoperative hour 1 and day 4.

Design: Comparative study.

Method: Ninety-six consecutive patients (110 eyes; 43 men and 53 women, mean age 70.

OBJECTIVE To compare incidence densities of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) or extended-spectrum β-lactamase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (ESBLE) acquisition in the intensive care unit (ICU) before and after discontinuation of contact precautions (CP) and application of standard precautions (SP). DESIGN Prospective noninferiority before-and-after study comparing 2 periods: January 1, 2012, to January 31, 2014 (the CP period) and February 1, 2014, to February 29, 2016 (the SP period). SETTING A 16-bed polyvalent ICU in France with only single-bed rooms with dedicated equipment and reusable medical devices.

Purpose: To assess the impact of surgeon experience on early postoperative central corneal thickness (CCT) in eyes that have undergone phacoemulsification-based cataract surgery.

Methods: One hundred sixty eyes underwent phacoemulsification-based cataract surgery performed by an experienced surgeon (n = 110; senior group) or a surgically less experienced ophthalmic assistant (n = 50; junior group), using the divide-and-conquer or tilt-and-tumble technique for cataractous lens extraction. The primary endpoint was postoperative corneal edema 2 hours after surgery, determined by pachymetry-based CCT.

Objective: In people with hip osteoarthritis (OA), the impact of obesity on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) remains unknown. Also whether cardiovascular conditions can modify the obesity-HRQoL relation has not been explored. We aimed to (1) study the cross-sectional relationship between body mass index (BMI) and HRQoL in symptomatic hip OA patients and determine whether cardiovascular comorbidity modifies this relationship and (2) examine the impact of BMI on the course of HRQoL over time.

EDTA is a chelating agent that has been used in decontamination processes. Its quantification is required for nuclear waste management because it affects the mobility of radionuclides and metals in environment and, thus, can harm the safety of the storage. Ion-pair chromatography coupled with electrospray mass spectrometry detection is a convenient method for quantitative analysis of EDTA but EDTA should be present as a single anionic chelate form.
