Urbanization is causing a significant impact on biodiversity and human health. The increase in vector-borne diseases in recent decades is linked to changes in the environment due to urbanization. We have reviewed published information on urban mosquitoes from around the globe to examine major study trends in terms of urbanization, and the type of arboviruses they vector.
